Is this an allergy rash?

I've learned so much from all of you in the past couple weeks! I'm a newbie and have a question for you all.

Andy has had this "rash" for about 1.5 weeks now - it started as a little bump near the right side of the corner of his mouth. It then moved to the left - then everywhere else. His cheek looks like it could be eczema (very mild though). He used to say that it itched a lot. Now, he just scratches it once in a while (not sure if he's scratching it because he's used to doing it now?).

We haven't been giving Andy any dairy over the last couple weeks because he's been sick with a cold/horrible cough. That all went away about 3 days ago and I've given him a little bit of cheese (didn't seem to affect the rash - not yet at least). He is eating wheat - although not a lot of it since I don't make a lot of stuff with wheat or sauces with wheat, etc.

We already took Andy to the dr. last week and he said it wasn't impetigo. DH is allergic to dairy (gets eczema). I am gluten intolerant. What do you think? Dairy? Gluten? Both? Neither?

Here's the picture of him and his "bumps"! He looks so sad because he just stuck a piece of cucumber in his mouth and then I took the picture (oops!). Sorry it's sideways - when I look at it in my account it looks correct. Hmm...

Thank you for your input!

Have you looked at photos of dermatitis herpeteformis? Does it occur on the face? IDK, but its a possibility with the gluten connection.

Yes I have. I'm just not sure that's what it is. Derm. Herp. looks a lot worse than what he has.

Both my girls have looked like this with their allergies. I'd say it could be the dairy or the wheat or anything else you might suspect - lol. Good luck!

Thank you two! The bumps are "crusting" over now (they're beginning to look a lot smaller, etc. compared to the picture) and we're now going on the 4th day gluten free! I have been giving him dairy - as much as I usually do when he doesn't have a cold. I think that it's gluten and not dairy. Maybe it is dermatitis herpeteformis.
