How many mamas think they're going today/tomorrow/very very soon?

I'm losing count in all the random threads! So many of you think you're in the beginning stages of labor! Wow! Help me keep track!

Okay. This isn't stopping, so I am pretty sure that this is early labour and that I will be out of it at some point this week. Right now I'm floating up and down in and out of labourland, and haven't yet got round to getting serious about having this baby, but it'll kick off sooner or later and probably some time in the next few days.
Besides, I bought a bottle of castor oil and we've been reading him the contraindications on the bottle and the induction recipes. (I can tell you lot that I have no intention of using it, because I'm pretty sure he can't read yet, but please don't say it out loud. Non-coercive parenting does NOT start with prodromal labour.)

Next?

Helen, I don't know whether to say or : these days, but send your little boy my love and know that you have my admiration anyway.

You're one strong mama and I'm frequently on at odd hours (and not-so-odd in your time zone, but it's pretty dead here then) if you ever need someone to talk to.

Seriously. I have 81 methods of inducing labour stored around here, and he's getting one a night for bedtime reading. Tonight is the one that got things moving with Skye, Mary Cronk's castor oil, orange juice, dry biscuits and a stretch and sweep- plus a very dry sense of humour (droller than me even.)

eta: she wasn't a castor oil baby. I literally laughed my way into labour.

I'll bite. I've been having contractions on and off all week: some mild, some close and strong. I have had a few sleepless nights where I was not able to lay down through the back pain. Last night I started having bloody show and it has continued all day today. I am having really strong menstrual-type cramping and I am just starting to have contractions right now. With any luck this full moon is bringing me a baby girl but I don't want to get my hopes up in case it's another couple weeks.

I want to be part of this thread but I just don't know. I have had ctx for 5 days with no other signs--no bloody show, no loss of mucous plug, nothing. The ctx will be regular for a few hours then stop, then come back the next day. Some hurt, some don't. So I just don't know. I have never done this before--I usually just wake up in labor!

Helen and Strawberry, you are more patient women than I! I think if I'd been contracting for that long and having bloody show I'd be doing something to get the ball rolling! Helen I love that you are "threatening" your little one with info on various induction methods! I'm not talking anything serious but some pressure points for sure!! I hope you both have a babe in your arms soon!! Well, for that mater I hope I do too but things have settled down here and I figure I've got a couple more weeks in me. I think this babe will be pretty close to his/her dd of the 3rd. Time will tell I guess. I'm thinking of you both and hope to hear some wonderful birth stories soon!

I'm gonna say that I'll go within the next week. My DD has ear tube surgery scheduled for the 28th, and I just feel like there's no way that's happening. I'm due 2/5.

Also, this is my second day of sporadic, painful contractions here and there, I'm almost completely effaced, I've lost 2 pounds, I'm breaking out, and as of today I suddenly can barely move around. Ugh.

It's actually fine with me to go to term or beyond, though, as long as I don't go nuts from all the fake-out warm-up labor. My last day of work isn't till 2/1, and I have a lot to do.

I'm fully expecting to see at least 3-4 babies born here in this next week...

loraxc, did your family go to Disney World?

I'm having some lovely contractions with cervical sensations tonight but I don't think it's anything unfortunately.

I'm not sure again... ctx are back down to 10-20 minutes apart, but are stronger. I got my midwife to check me this morning, and whilst I nearly jumped out of the window (is anyone else's cervix really sensitive, or am I just broken?) I am dilating- so this isn't spurious labour, it's early labour, apparently. The end result is the same, though: a baby some time in the next 25 days.
Sarahn, I have mixed feelings on this- my 37 weeker is my (this is going to sound dreadful) unhealthy kid. Infantile eczema, milk allergies, he actually died from septicaemia at 3 months but they got him going again, asthma, vax reactions, the works. You name it, the chances are that Isaac has it. He's also the most difficult of my full-term births, and I've done this long, slow, labour thing before- just not with him. So while I know I'm moaning a lot, I also know that I have the strength in me for another week of this, longer if I have to- and that it'll be worth it to avoid having Isaac mark 2.
It's all my fault. I specified to the universe that I wanted a nice slow, steady labour this time, because when things went with Skye, they went fast. I should have been a bit more specific
