& how many of us are sure they'll be here for the long haul? - Page 2

Well, right now I'm having a self pity-party and thinking I'll be here forever. I'm 39 weeks today and technically due 1/28 but I just don't feel like anything is going to happen anytime soon. The last 2 times my DP and I DTD it set off about 6 hours of painful contractions that didn't do squat! I'm still only about 1 cm dilated-which I have been for the last 3 weeks. I'm excited and happy for the mamas who have already delivered but at the same time I feel like a pouty little kid thinking "But I was due first!"

The "trend" in my family is that the second baby is a boy and they are born "late" so I'm really not expecting anything to happen for another 2 weeks, but there's always wishful thinking, right?

I plan on being here most of February. My due date is 2-24 now, but my original due date was 3-8. Since it's my first, I don't have anything to go on as far as whats normal for me. But I am not full term until the first full week of next month and DP is overseas and not due to be back until 2-3. So I would really like it if this little one could cook for a few weeks after his return so it can just be the two of us for a bit longer. So anywhere between the 2 due dates would be fine with me.
