Has anyone tried a diaper cover made out of this wook fabric?

I ordered a swatch of the following wool fabric. Has anyone tried out a diaper cover made of this fabric? http://www.nearseanaturals.com/item.php?id=1389

As an experiment, I fold it in 1/2, so that it made 2 layers, put a glob on water on the swatch and after a minute went by, the water leaked all the way through.

I'm not sure how wool covers work. Maybe if, instead of using straigher of water, I used a totally soaked absorbent type fabric next to the 2 layers of wool, the wool would still do it's job???

Are these findings okay, for fabric I want to make a diaper cover out of? I have a disana jacket. I read it is made of the same fabric the diaper covers are made out of. I tried this experiment with it, and the water also dripped through.

Anyone want to try this with their wool covers and see if it leaks through, so that I know if it's okay, before ordering? Just put like a 1 tsp bead of water on the cover and see what happens after a minute.

Thanks!

Wool works by dispersing moisture over the surface area so it can evaporate. It works because the "saturation point" (the % of its weight in liquid it can hold before feeling *wet* instead of just damp) is quite high compared to other natural fibers. It isn't water *proof* but is water *resistant*. Lanolizing the wool will increase its resistance.

You also might need to "felt" or "full" the wool to increase the water resistance. To do that, you wash the fabric in hot water and dry on high. It shrinks the fibers & compacts the weave
