Ok, so I decided that I need to finally wash his clothing. So, I preceed to wash them and after running them through a load, I realized that I forgot to put in detergent! I ran them with just water. So, here's the silly question, was that bad? I ran them on a long cycle and I know that there can be bacteria in plain old water. I ran them again with soap. Anyone else ever do this? I swear, my brain is all messed up!

I don't think I've done it, but I wouldn't worry.
I will probably do the ultimate new baby sin. I'm planning on just pulling some clothes out of storage and putting them on the baby without washing them! If they smell funky or musty or anything, I will wash them, but I'm definitely not worried about bacteria.
There's bacteria on everything, even freshly washed clothes. Don't worry!

I hung up all the wonderful clothes my friend gave me just to see how it looked... and I highly doubt I'm going to wash anything. She says she washed everything, and that's good enough for me.

I haven't washed anything yet. Not sure I'm going to. Probably the things I know are second hand, just in case of smoke or pet hair... but.. ehh..
I didn't wash anything for my last baby and she made it fine.
I also just use the regular soap the rest of us use. With a family of 5 (soon 6) thats just too much laundry to be separating and using different soap. LOL

I purposely washed everything without detergent because I figured there must have been some buildup in there from past washing and I'd like them as clean as possible. Same with my diapers.

I'm not overly worried about used clothes. It's new clothes and the nasty pesticides and such that they spray on them when they're new for travel from manufacturer to store that I always make sure I wash out...that goes for adult clothes too.....wash EVERYTHING before you wear it.
I usually pack away clothes clean, and will only wash when I get them back out if they're musty or I question how clean they have stayed.
