how's it going with your nov 05 babe and her?
I have a few minutes where ds is in bed and baby girl is enjoying some daddy time.

She was born at home, fast and furious. Abbreviated birth story is that I was having contrax 5 minutes apart from the wee hours of the morning until the afternoon. My water broke and my labor stalled so everyone went home and dh and I had some lunch, took a nap, some herbs, and scheduled an acupuncture appointment. I woke up from the nap and my contractions were 1-3 minutes apart so people started trickling back in. At about 3:30-4 pmish the midwife checked me and I was 3 cm. I was so discouraged and had a really hard time thinking about the long road ahead of me since I was *already* holding myself back from pushing, only 3 cm, and having contractions one on top of each other. I got in a bath and started talking about transferring to the hospital. I got out of the bath at maybe quarter to 5 and got checked again--7 cm. Things got really crazy and I was out of my mind for a little while, yelling and cursing and throwing up and at 5:20 I was bearing down so hard that I couldn't hold back any more and said I needed to push. They rolled me over and it was like one continuous contraction that was so intense. I felt really out of control and I really don't know what happened but she came flying out and by 5:21 she was already laying on my chest.

Ds loves his baby sister so much he was thrilled to meet her and wants to hold her all day. He smothers her with kisses and tells her he loves her and wants her to play with him.

Wow! What a quick labor once it really kicked in, and how nice that you didn't have to push much! I am so happy for you, she is such a sweet little bundle!

Oh I am so very happy you got your home birth!!! It sounds very intense and difficult but I'm glad it was relatively quick through that time. I can't wait for my little bundle to arrive, so for the time being I'm living vicariously through you! Congrats again!! Just in case you weren't sure, we'd love more pics!
