i think that is all and rest. You may want to let someone know just in case.

I hope things are ok, and the pain goes away soon.

go to the chiro and a massage therapist, if you are not already doing these things on a regular basis. ice should be used first, not heat from what my chiro recommends for injury. you can take arnica, too.

maybe would you want to at least, tell your primary care provider what happened so they know? if you are still feeling baby movement, that woud be very reassuring to me.

i fell down concrete stairs back in the summer (while holding my toddler, too) and it was so traumatic. hope that you are okay, mama!

Ditto on using ice first later you can use moist heat. Also highly recommend the chiro and massage!

Your MD or midwife may want to do a non stress test (monitoring) just to check you and the baby out so I would let him/her know.

Good luck!

Hi SewingMama - hoping everything is ok. I also fell on the ice 10 days ago, and pulled several muscles in my abdominal area (including one that apparently takes 4-6 weeks to heal under normal circumstances, grumble). I've found that heat works better for relief than ice, and hot baths are the best by a lot. Sleep also helps. That old theory that sleep aids healing? Very true.

As far as stretching etc., my advice would be to let things heal - if it hurts, don't do it. If you can do a very, very, very gentle stretch and not get any tugging or pain, it's probably ok....but be careful. Our bodies are at a bit of a disadvantage right now - they have more important things to do than heal

Also, the extra weight bearing down on the affected area makes it that much slower a process...so go easy, don't push it, walk gingerly. Unfortunately, it's still very icy in my part of the world as well - going from car to door is an adventure!
