I LOOOOVE my midwife!

We have a baby!
My water did break at 7pm and at 9:30 I was holding our new baby girl
However, she decided to be born with her hand by her head. YYYEEEEOOOOOOWWWWCH! somehow my very seasoned, calm midwife helped me through screaming my head off (which is highly unsual for me in birth) for about a half hour of very slow, controlled pushing while she did some serious maneuvering in there with the babe but no tears, rips, etc at all. whew.

I'm bruised; she's bruised but we won the fight for sure. I feel if I'd been in a hospital I would have ended up with a csection (that is what happened to my sil-I don't think I will share my birth story with her).

I know I will recover quickly and I feel like I have touched that animal strength inside myself that I never had to call upon before last night. I feel like I am capable of anything now. My husband is in AWE of us this morning.
VICTORY!

Yay hooray! Congratulations, mama!

When dd was born with her hand by her head I ended up with 11 stitches. You are so blessed to have had such a great midwife and the inner strength to GO SLOWLY through the pushing.

You are a rockstar!
Enjoy your babymoon!
