Online CEUs and a question

Thread Starter
I just did the course at www.breastfeedingtraining.org and the CEU certificate says that I got .55 CEUs, but that .01 CEU is awarded for every contact hour. The course is valued a 5.5 CMEs, though? So if my goal is "proof of 20 hours of continuing education," how many hours do I get for this course?

And does anyone have any other links/ideas for online CEUs?

Thanks!

I really hate the numbering systems-- look at your laws/rules and see if they define the numbers- if not who is going to read your info- call and ask for an interpretation in writing because that is who it is going to matter to in the long run. in our rules there is conflicting interpretations/definitions so it really comes down to who is OKing it -
so your breastfeeding info was 5 1/2 hrs according to this chart is this going to help?

here is an example of how CME hours end up equaling CEUs----

Equivalencies:

10 contact hours = 1 CEU
1 contact hour = 0.1 CEU
1 contact hour = 60 minutes

oh and here is a link to medscape they have a bunch of free stuff

you know what it looks as though they miss placed a decimal point-- so instead of .01 it should be 0.1-- don't you think-- contact them and mention it

When I sat for my IBCLC exam, I took all my CEU's (well, most of them) through Health e-learning. I can't remember the exact address, it's out of Australia, they now have online conferences, isn't that cool? Their are classes for breastfeeding, now they have them for anatomy, communication and some other things. They were reasonably priced and well put together. And if you attend an online conference, you can get your CEU's for that too.

Also LLL has a professional series, you buy the book, it's very thick, and then do all the worksheets/test, send it back and voila! CEU's!!!

If you find other sources, please post them here or pm me, I am also looking for that kind of stuff!

http://www.consciouswoman.org/

They are having a Healing from Birth Trauma seminar w/ CEU's. They have a bunch of interesting birth related on-line seminars.
