Learn to Sew Self-Teaching Ideas

Thread Starter
OK... I have a machine and a vague memory from taking sewing classes at the Singer store when I was 14... but other than that, I'm clueless.

Anybody have some ideas/books they'd like to recommend to teach myself?? I'd be super happy if I could figure out to hem stuff... maybe sew a pillow. If I dream big, it's about making a hijab or a skirt.

Hi! Here's a list of sewing basics with a pillow pattern, too. I might check out sewmamasew (linked to some super easy project ideas) or craftster

I saw this yahoo group you might be interested in when you start dreaming big and move on to making a hijab (which I don't think is going to be all that difficult )

HTH!

I bought this book and really like it. It comes w/ a skirt pattern, too.

I like Amy Karol's Bend the Rules Sewing, too.
