Bleeding already????

I am so confused, here are the details: Had the baby on dec. 5th. tore minor, had 1 stich. (with my first baby, tore worse than this) so I had my lochia for about 5 1/2 weeks. stopped completely, now almost two weeks later, I am bleeding again. what does this mean? Am I not finished with my lochia? Or is this not a good sign? Any ideas??? Thanks! (could stress be causing this? I am a little stressed at the moment, with a toddler, baby, two dogs, husband 6 states away on training, van just broke down, and no groceries!!! auhg!!!) and by the way i am exclusively breast feeding!!!!!

After DS1, I bled bright red for close to 6 weeks, then brown for another 2.5 weeks. After a 1.5 weeks of being clear, I had some (not period-like) bright red bleeding again. The midwives said it was fine; probably stress related. I was also exclusively breast-feeding.

One thing that was important was that it wasn't as heavy as a period -- if I'd been bleeding more heavily, they would have wanted me to come in so they could palpate my uterus to make sure it was down to its normal size (apparently it would have stayed swollen if there was some retained placenta?).

I remember bleeding a little again after I was sure I'd stopped. I thought it was my period returning but it only lasted a day, day and a half and then stopped so I don't think it was my period now. I was under a lot of stress at the time too with my girls still being in the hospital. I was pumping for them.

I tend to think it might be a case of maybe over-exerting yourself (after reading all that you're dealing with) and body is saying rest me, please Although not totally unheard of, if you're exclusively breastfeeding, I would say it's rare to already have your cycle return.

I had something similar. I was worried it was AF returning, but it wasn't. Just random recurrence of lochia. AF returned at about 6-7 mos pp. As long as the bleeding isn't really heavy or have clots, I wouldn't worry. Just try to take it easier for awhile if you can.
