well i got up this morning and started the daily check-in saying that i was having regular contractions or what i thought was. well it turns out that they were the real thing. they woke me up from sleep at 12:35 this morning. i called the midwife at 2:30am she said to come to the birth center. it took us an hour to get ready, two hours to get there, and when i got there I was 9 3/4 cm. Koi was born one hour later at 6:25am, six hours after labor started. we were back home from the birth center by 11:30am. he is doing really well. He weighed 8 lbs. 5 ounces, was 21 inches long, and despite his fast delivery I didn't even get a tear. This was the best birth that i possibly could have expected. I'm so excited. big brother is still getting used to everything. he missed a lot of sleep and is pretty wild.
