EBF baby girl will NOT take a bottle of BM

Hi ladies,
I'm not sure if this is the right forum but here we go:

I am in my final semester if my degree program and I have a wonderful new 4 mo addition. She's never been great with a bottle, very hit or miss, but it wasn't an issue last semester because my schedule allowed me to come home and nurse frequently.

This semester is totally different with DD being watched by another breastfeeding AP mommy 3 x week (Tuesday is the long haul -7am to 6 pm) and by my mother 2 x week. Let's just say these last two weeks have been terrible!! DD refuses to eat from the bottle. I've got an advent bottle and an odiri breast bottle.

any tips? suggestions? Will she eventually just get hungry enough to eat no matter the packaging?

so far no supply issues or nursing issues. When I'm home she happily latches on... and stays there

Sometimes babies will reverse cycle, so they'll wait all day for mom and not eat (kind of like some babies don't eat at night) and then nurse happily all night long.

Is she upset? How's the situation when you get there? Is she losing any weight?

Have you tried different bottles/nipples? Or cup feeding? Could your childcare provider try finger feeding with a SNS?

I once babysat an EBF baby (only 6 weeks old though) who wouldn't take the bottle either. it was a combination of him getting hungry enough and me finally getting a medicine dropper. at first i had to put it all the way in th back of his mouth so that he couldnt spit it out, but after a few dropperfuls that way it took the edge off and I was able to feed him that way. takes a whil though. another suggestion...try a faster flow nipple. that worked for a friend of mine's dd.

try a cup.

i had to have surgery at 3 1/2 months postpartum and i was so stressed out because dd would NOT take a bottle. but she did lap up pumped milk from a spoon and from a regular cup. it's more labor intensive but might do the trick.

and good luck to you!
