If you saw the breastfeeding symbol in a store window - Page 2

i would just think the store supports nursing! and, i would want to shop there. a feel free to nurse anywhere attitude from all the employees and a chair would be nice, too.

I always say a drink because I knw some women get very thirsty while feeding.

I remember at the NCT nearly new sales round here when I was on the organisation team they decided to not do drinks one time, I said it was a bad idea, well, turns out we had a whole bunch of desperately thirsty breastfeeding mums and nowt to give them. So, next time, made sure there were drinks on hand........ Not that the drinks had to be anything special, just water.

Ooooooo, and a comfy chair.

I would expect to see a lot of nursing mamas in there.

I suppose if I were a nursing mama, as a larger woman, I would appreciate a bench over a chair with arms. (I have very wide hips and two FM trigger points on my hips, so armed chairs are out for me!)

And who don't mind my perusing the shelfs while sitting on the floor nursing.

though we're past that stage now

A quiet space is a MUST for those with inquisitive/curious/monkey babies (like mine). Acrobatics while nursing? Turning head with nipple in mouth? Flapping of hands while eating? Yep, all of those. The less distraction, the better.

A COMFORTABLE chair NOT near the bathroom would be great, too. I hate it when "nursing room" = bathroom with chair in it. Yuck. Arm rests at a comfortable height are also necessary for me.

So I guess, a comfortable chair in a quiet, discreet little corner is what I would like for a nursing area.

And for the love of *deity*, please don't put the chair under a ceiling fan. My poor breasts just can't compete with ceiling fans!

That's great!
I agree w/the welcoming, warm, open minded people, water cooler and comfy area.
