Pushing felt FANTASTIC. I loved it! No pain, couldn't feel contractions...and crowning, well, that felt great as well.
It was a very pleasurable change of pace...
Transition was miserable for me. The pressure was unreal, waves of nausea, endless plateaus of pain. The pressure was really the worst and then my body started pushing on its own with the loooooooooooong contractions and the feeling - the shockwave - of a huge push going through my body unanticipated, well, that was very difficult. I felt so out of control and thought I was talking out loud when in reality I was completely silent. I nearly died with happiness when the midwife said my lip was gone and to push along with the urges.
