Looking for Mom's outside Pittsburgh- I'm in Cranberry - Page 2

I'm in Sewickley. That is actually pretty central between Ohio Twp. and Greentree! Maybe we could do a get-together.

We are located in Coraopolis/Moon Township area. I have a 4 year old, a 2.5 year old and a 4 wk 4 day old!

I've lived here now for 3 years and don't know very many families that cloth diaper or...families in general!

Hi, Any good ideas then? I went to the storytime at Sewickley library this week and it was pretty boring compared to the one over in Brookline. I don't have any other indoor ideas, though if it's as nice as yesterday it would be nice to get outside some. I don't pay much attention to what the weather is going to do

I'd like to find other people who care as much as I do and can also help me find some great spots in the area to buy fresh organic produce- milk............I have another baby due in July and am intending to 100% CD, EBF, co-sleep and baby wear............ I would love someone local to talk to.....................
Hi! I live in Ellwood City and am about 20 minutes from Cranberry. We co-sleep, EBF, no-vax. We don't CD:, but would really be interested to try with #2. Anyway, I understand what you mean about funny looks. I go to Cranberry fairly often, as my sister works at the Starbucks in the Target plaza. I second the Sorgels idea when the weather gets warmer, we go there sometimes too! Let me know if you ever want to meet up sometime!

I know it's not the most exciting event, but would anyone be interested in meeting up at the little play area in the Robinson Mall? I would think that would be pretty central for Moon, Crafton, Sewickley, and some of the other places mentioned on here. Like I said, nothing exciting, but it sure would be nice to meet other mothers who don't look at me like I'm crazy sooner rather than waiting for warm weather to do something outside. For me weekdays are best. Anyone interested?

Sure, count me in. Robinson is about 20 minutes from our place.
I'll come, but it can be really crowded there sometimes.

Great! What time and day works for anyone? If we went early, like 10ish it might not be so crowded. Seems to get worse around lunch time. But it doesn't have to be then.

Not to far from you in the North Hills. I recently moved back to Pittsburgh and haven't really meet my "niche" of people yet.

It would have to be a Wednesday for us, but 10 in the morning? We are still in our pjs!
Sorry, I'm a morning person. Then I'm ready for bed by like 2 in the afternoon. But I could do a different time, it was just a suggestion for being less crowded . Anytime Wednesday is fine for me too.

Let's go with what the majority wants, and I'll deal if it is morning.

Oh darn, our spring preschool session starts this upcoming week so we'll be unavailable Wednesday morning. In the future, we can do Tuesday or Thursday mornings or M, W, F afternoons after 12. Maybe I'll see you guys next time.

Hi Lilli!! Hope you're doing well!

Hi Lilli!! Hope you're doing well!
We don't have to do Wed. morning. Wed. afternoon would be better for my night-owl self anyway. Thurs mornings are okay, I just have to have Mad to school by 12:30. Tuesday is dh's day off so I won't want to go anywhere.

Okay, so who wants Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning of next week?

Nicole - I keep forgetting that you changed your username! I'm always like, who's that? Duh.

Either is fine with me.

Hi, everyone! I'm Jen and live in Carrick, it is literally the city of Pittsburgh, but, considered "south". I grew up in Ambridge, Beaver County, and used to live in Coraopolis and Avalon. I pretty much know where all the areas are that everyone has mentioned! lol. I have no problems driving anywhere, we have lots of places we go and lots of playdates. There is a skating rink called Romp N Roll in Glenshaw http: http://www.rompnrollpgh.com/ , right off of Route 8. On Tuesdays from 1-3 they have a toddler skate, for up to age 9. We went there for the first time this week and it was So fun. There were mom's pushing strollers while skating, little 2 and 3yr olds on skates (and I think a few younger, too), some good on their own and others needing help. I didn't wear skates, just walked while helping my 6 yr old and 3 yr old. By the end my 6yr old was able to skate alone. My 3 yr old walked around the rink a bit for a while, then, tried skates again. He did better on the carpet, but, we will probably go again next week.

I am also on the pittsburgh mother's center group, but, a lurker. I am on Pittsburgh mama's yahoo group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PghMamasNetwork/ and PALScommunity a homeschool group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/palscommunity/

I am not real active on either list, in fact I'm on digest on both. But, I learn about playgroups and have come to meet some cool mama's from all over the Pittsburgh area. We are Unschoolers, We used cloth diapers, but, now both are out of dipes. I slinged my kids everywhere when they were younger and actually they were both around 2.5 when I finally stopped. I'm still nursing my 3yr old.

Neither child is much into storytimes. We were *just* at the play area in Ross Park mall yesterday! It's a little bigger than the one at Robinson. Our Favorite one is the one in Monroeville mall, but, it's a bit further out for us, so we don't go there all that often.

So which is it going to be, Wednesday or Thursday?
I prefer Wed. afternoon but am flexible.
Good, that is my preference too because I have to be over that way on Wednesday anyways, but I could still do either.
I'm going to be over at the mall around 1:30. I'm meeting my husband for lunch first, so it kind of depends on when he gets to take his break. I have short-ish brown hair and I'm wearing a grey sweater. My 11 month old that prefers to just walk circles around the ladybug in the play area(if he's in an agreeable mood) and he's wearing a jean jacket and camo pants (for the moment, never know when that will change).
