I'm starting day #3 of Sears' ED (I had range-fed turkey, an apple, leftover white rice, squash/zucchini, and sweet potato the 1st day; turkey, pear, quinoa, sweet potato yesterday). Gas, eczema, and pumpkin mucousy or liquidy poop.
He was "normal" night before last (a bit gassy, but easy to get back to sleep, until I came to bed), but last night was way different. My mom watched him for a couple hours and said he was gassy (also very tired) and arched his back/cried out even when upright. He was fine when I came home, and went down ok (nurses to sleep). His current pattern is I nurse him to sleep in bed and sneak away once he falls asleep), then he wakes between sleep cycles and we rock him back to sleep unless he is pretty awake, then I nurse him again. Most of these wakings are with his legs curling up; we've always assumed gas, but the pains don't bother him when he's in deep sleep. Last night I was up with him quite a bit, we'd get about 1.5 hours sleep after I nursed him, then he'd be up, tired, but not wanting to nurse back down. Eventually he would...later, rinse, repeat. Upright helps a bit, but not always. We don't usually have to miss sleep like that...he goes for about 12 hours.
I will not eat quinoa today to see if that is the culprit...it is not part of my normal diet and I added it as many EDing mamas seem to rave about it. Any other ideas? Yeast die-off? He did nap ok this afternoon for 45 min...
Oh, I've been strict dairy-free since Xmas 'cept for the cheese Quizno's put on my sub last weekend..I was too hungry not to eat it. Yes, I do know I should have avoided the bread, too. I did notice a little increase in gasiness, but nothing like last night!
Thanks!
