Malaysian midwives/homebirth?

We're moving in the next few months and I wanted to see if anyone knows anything about the birth climate there, LLL Meetings, or has any friends there that I could get in touch with.

I'm a CPM wanting to start thinking about having baby #2 and am totally afraid that I am going to have an uphill battle over there!

Any help? Heard any stories? Know if any websites?

So, how hard would it be to just "jump" on over to have the baby in Bali?

(but I guess that really takes the "homebirth" out of the equation!)

Thanks for any replies-- anything will help

I spoke with my Malaysian friends, one is a nurse, and the general response is: "but medical care is adequate enough here for hospital birth". So I take it that most birth in hospital and there isn't home birth. Though I'd venture to say as it is in Thailand, that in the outer areas there is still plenty of homebirth... if you trek out to the villages!

Well, now I wonder if there are any midwives in Indonesia, Thailand, etc. that would be interested in a "working holiday"!
