WoW Tribe 2008!!! - Page 6

So do all the Eye of the Storm premades run at night? It's pretty much impossible to do that BG in the evening.

I wouldn't mind giving a premade a run for it's money, even though one of the ones we come up against is very well geared. It's just that I almost never get in at the beginning. I only get in because every one leaves. Yesterday I did this with my Alliance 70, and the opposing side had managed to jump up onto our rock, so they were killing us as we beamed in. I didn't even know that was possible.

And then one day we were up against a premade in Arathi Basin, and they actually captured the Blacksmith before the game started. Someone said that was a bug with the Zul'aman frog pet, or something.

Then yesterday I beamed in late to EOTS premade, and my screen froze up. No one could move, we couldn't leave the BG. I could talk in guild chat, but I couldn't talk in BG chat. Yet we could see some people running around, and the resources kept going up for them. Then the game was over, but I couldn't get out of the BG server, so I assume it went down. Yet it still credited the other side with a win, I'm guessing, since I got a token for losing.

BGs have been glitchy for us lately too, as far as getting booted ect. A few weeks ago I kept getting booted from server right when the game would end but I always got my marks when I logged right back in.

Not sure how it is in your battle group Viola but in ours some of the premades we end up against are really bad There are mostly really good ones though. We don't have premades very often in EOTS except when it's that BGs weekend. When it is I almost always double queue so I can go to a different one rather than waste the time. Although if it's really bad it is usually over in 5 minutes or less anyway, so probably not really worth it to leave.

I can't seem to decide what alt to level now that I got my rogue to 70. I was going to level my priest but I'm not feeling it that much so I'm looking at other options. I know my guild could use another priest though.

In the Bloodlust battlegroup, all of the Horde premades seem OK. Although it's hard to really tell, because people see it's a premade and beam out, even if we had a full group to begin with. So there is no way to win when there are only 2 of you at the battle's start.

In the Emberstorm battlegroup, the premades from Drenden are always tough, but the one I encountered from Rivendare isn't as tough.

I don't know, I'm just really, really sick of BGs. I lose on the Alliance side, I lose on the Horde side. There were some 5 minute wins yesterday, where the Horde just zerged and pushed right through SPGY and the Aid station. Didn't even bother killing Balinda. Then I join one and people say, "Zerg, honor per minute" and I rush up with a few others, and they all run into take Bal and we all wipe on SPGY and then we are defending and lose. And I say that I didn't realize we were taking Bal and I get these sarcastic responses about how yeah, we should just let her live and add to their reinforcements. Blah. Well, then don't act like you aren't going to take her if that is your plan all along!

Then on the Alliance side, anytime anyone goes in and takes Galv, they start moaning about how they've lost. But when I play against the Alliance, they kill Galv and take IBGY and rush right up to the relief hut. You know, I don't really care one way or the other, but I see people not defending, running on offense, yelling to zerg and push through and take the SPGY, and then everyone is fighting in the road when I've run on ahead to the graveyard. At least on the Horde side we tend to defend the towers we've taken, and we end up with more honor for losing than I ever do on Alliance. Yesterday on Alliance I went up to heal someone taking Iceblood, and she jumped out as soon as she grabbed the flag, and there was no way I could stay and defend. I got killed because I didn't leave as soon as she did, and we never did get credit for it. Very frustrating.

Oh, and WSG. Yesterday someone was complaining we were turtling and I said it's better than no one waiting for the next person and just stringing out in a line so we can get easily picked off.

I think the group mentality psychology aspect is kind of interesting, but I would love to have a group with a leader and a plan.

Although you have a pet, so it can chase him down and take the aggro from the others while you try and escape.

Over the years I've learned better how close and at what angle I can approach just to aggro one or two things. That was a hard thing for me in the beginning, for some reason. I used to get in the best spot I could for rezzing, and then immediately shadowmeld while I healed up, if I felt like there was no good escape. If you can get in a spot where no one sees your for a little while, you can hearth out.

So what kind of pet did you get?
Yep, it was the Barrow Den and it was awful! You guys gave me some great advice and I am now really good at getting out of caves alive. Just wish I could finish the quest first! LOL Shadowmeld was a great idea. And my hearthstone is getting some good use too But I also really don't like caves.

I chose as a pet a nightsaber, and am happy with my Cat. We are getting along quite well. I just leveled up to 17 and my Cat is at 16 so we are doing OK. But still working on my cave issues - now trying to get those Darn mushrooms from the cave in Darkshore.

I also decided to focus my talents on Beast Mastery, as I really want to be able to solo as much as I can. I have found in other MMPORG's that working with a group can be a huge PITA. LOL

This is a huge travesty!

Your poor little toons are languishing from neglect. They miss you. They miss going out on quests. They miss killing beasties.

They need your time and attention and you are failing them.

Please log in, please save them from a life filled with low self esteem and feeling that they are not wanted. You made them. They need you.

Not to mention that I miss "seeing" you too..

Do not be a toon abuser. Log in. Only you can save your toon from a life of neglect and despair...

lol. all my toons are going to have to go to see a shrink then. My lo is taking up way too much time and seems to time her need for attention with WOW time. It is slowly getting better so I hope to see you girls soon.

Isn't it funny how there is very little crossover with who is on what realm?

My husband sent me a story from the NY Times in an e-mail which he titled n00bz. It was in the wedding section, and it was about this couple that played WoW together. They showed her toon and his, and apparently they were playing together but he far outpaced her. So then they decided to play the same character together, and they said they met other couples doing the same. Weird. I know a lot of couples do, but we never character share. I don't even know my husband's WoW password, and I don't think he knows mine.

But the funny thing was, they showed screenshots of their characters, and hers was only level 2. : And his was 35, and then he canceled the subscription because he decided they were wasting too much time inside. Yeah, definitely n00bz!

I don't get it. How can you even consider yourself to be "playing" WoW when your critter is level 2? :headscratch Whether or not you're playing (sharing?!) a character with someone else. That's bizarre.

Heck, I can make level two in less than five minutes of gametime.

level 2 is not a character, it's a bank alt

My bank alt was level 1, and I really wanted to get to Orgrimmar before I leveled due to discovery. I actually had 2/3 of a bar of XP by the time I made it there. Then earlier in the month, I took my bank alt to moonglade to do the quest because I wanted to get him a suit to hang around Org in. He went from level 1 to level 3 just turning in that quest to talk to the Valdar Starstrike guy in Nighthaven.

To top it off, the suit looks really bad on him--I should have gotten the dress.

I didn't realize we had a new thread for 2008.

Most of my characters are on Proudmoore, Alliance side (/wave Viola), the ones I play the most these days are:

Avlam – lvl 70 priest
Mavalda – lvl 41 paladin

I have a couple other 60+ toons but I’m not that fond of alts anymore. I get quite bored questing and I would have stopped playing WoW a long time ago if I wasn’t raiding. Having said that, the paladin is so much fun! I specced protection to aoe grind, it’s s-o m-u-c-h f-u-n!!! It’s crazy OP that I can kill 4-5 mobs at once and still finish the fight at mostly full health and mana. Everyone should have a pocket prot pally.

the dress looks better IMO too

I once walked a gnome from Coldridge Valley to Ironforge and she was still level 1 when I got there.

Every time I've read an article written about WoW (which, OK, is probably only twice), the people writing it seem a little out of touch. I mean, yeah, my 5 year old could level to 2 in less than an hour just starting out, I honestly don't think she was playing if her character only made it to level 2. But maybe that was misreporting.

The New York Times Sunday magazine had an article about the lives of Chinese gold farmers, and they wrote about WoW in that same grandiose way they write about anything. And then they talked about how gold farmers are targeted by other players because by their play patterns, it is obvious they are farmers, and that other players attack them because of it. And if it takes a certain number minutes to run back for your body, that can be enough to cause you not to fulfill your quota and you can lose your job.

First of all, I don't really know who is a gold farmer or not by their farming patterns, because people farming for themselves work in the same way.

Secondly, other players can't really kill you while you are farming--unless you happen to be on a PvP server. In that case, Alliance vs. Horde trumps all. I thought it was really disingenuous to make this an American vs. Chinese thing.

And third, there aren't many places where it takes as long to recover your body as they listed in the article.

I saw you the other day, but I didn't bother you by whispering hi.

My pally was prot, and I was really dedicated to keeping her that way. And then I respecced because I was always competing with the other pally in the guild. Then we got another holy priest and now we have 3 healers and only one tank, and I'd respec again, but I got all my Gladiator pieces based on being holy. I seriously think about grinding for the prot set--can you do that? Our warrior respecced to prot, so now we have two tanks.

But what was funny is that the other day I got asked to tank for a group doing some quests in Shadowmoon, and I said I wasn't prot. Well, are you ret? Nope, holy. I told them I could try, since it was just group quests and not a dungeon. So we did and it worked pretty well. I could keep aggro, that wasn't the issue after I reworked my thinking, but I just got hurt more easily. The priest was up to the job, and I healed myself at least once, so it worked out.

I haven't been on mothering for some time, so I just found this thread.
My character's name is PurityLake, a human warrior, but I rarely play on runetotem realm.

I have 6 characters on Illidan, though. All my characters are alliance.
My highest level is my 37 ne druid, Chandika.
My first character is my 26 human warlock, PurityLaike
A favorite of mine is my 30 draenei shaman, Dakodah.
A fun one is my 20 dwarf hunter, Beatrycze, and her pet is a boar named TeddyBoar.
Then there is my gnome mage, Azusena and my human rogue PurityTigres.

I'll try to get on runetotem, but I'm not very fond of my warrior.

Please add me to the character list, though.

My priest dinged 70! Wow is shadowform fun! I have been having much fun in battlegrounds in my green gear lol.
I made a hunter on Runetotem..she's a massive level 7 I think. Her name is Badumksh. (pronounced like the drumroll after a punchline) I tried to log in a minute ago and my daughter started squawking that I'd knocked her offline. I'll have to try again later :P

That is definitely what I've done to my runetotem warrior.
I selected that character in an attempt to select something no one had yet. What a mistake that was.
Of course it hadn't been picked, it's boring.

My oldest daughter will be 3 years old at the end of May.
She is very interested in everythind to do with the computer.
I had no idea a 3 year old could play a character on Wow.
So, how is it done? Do you let her control the keys and the mouse, and let her die, then have to res for her, and so on, or can your 3 yr old REALLY play the game? I'm sure Abigail would have fun. I just don't know that she would understand which keys to press. She likes pressing the windows button.

DS has been begging for ages to play but I never let him. One day he was begging and I thought "eh, why not?" I put him on a different server and created a hunter. He got to lvl 3 during that one sitting. He can't read, at least for me he won't. But I was amazed. I didn't have to show him anything. He found his trainer, he knew to sell his items. He knows how to pick up quests. When he does, he goes back to his body. I watched him the other day duel a lvl 6 mage...he beat him. He LOVES dueling people and knows how to invite them to a duel. I know it is super nerdy to say this but, DH and I were really impressed. We don't usually play until his bedtime or naptime. But if I am doing something when he wakes up from his nap, I finish it and then get off so I guess he has seen it "enough" to get the hang of it.

But DS since he was about 2 years old has known how to use the computer. If I am busy cleaning or cooking, he has always went to the computer and pulled up a game or he gets on the internet and goes through the bookmarks and because of that, I've added his favourite music videos and children's websites and he goes right to them. He was born a computer nerd I guess.
