hi guys! I've got a super stupid question to ask LOL.. we just got WOW and I can not for the life of me figure out how to get my human rouge into stealth mode? Can someone take pity on the noob and tell me how? LOL thanks!

Just left click the stealth button with your mouse on the bottom left of your screen just above the action bar. Although I personally have stealth key bound (by dragging and dropping it from your spellbook).

My first 80!

My BM Hunter Ooòóoo on Kul Tiras just hit 80! Woot!

I have Pengu and the fishing pole, and just got my fishing to 300 so I can actually USE the pole.

My Engineering is 425, and I'm Exalted with Valiance, but just barely into revered with Explorers League, and only starting Friendly with the Frostborne. Any recommendations on who to get Exalted with next so I can have Exalted with Alliance Vanguard and get my motorcycle recipe? :-) I skipped Grizzly Hills. Should I go back and do that to try to get Explorers League, or is that an incorrect assumption about where to get Explorers League?

Eventually, I'll move him to Runetotem, but I'm still using him to help level some alts on Kul Tiras.

So thats where you've been hiding Bud! We've been very active lately with lots of runs and people on more often. It's been fun! I personally will be taking something of a break soon when the new baby comes; well at least I won't be healing for any big runs.

I keep reading threads on the WoW site about *how much do you crit* or *what's your avg dps*, etc. And I'm really embarrassed to ask this, but how do you find that information?

you need some mods that will keep track of your hits, or your dps. recount is one that will do whole groups and raids but its pretty heavy of a mod. there are other personal ones out there but i mostly play healers so i dont know them. maybe someone will, or you could look around at curse gaming or ask a guildie or someone you like in game.

Your combat log tab (your chat appears on one tab, behind it is your combat log) will show you all that. you can also change settings in your interface that have your damage/healing/etc scroll on the screen when you're in battle. That's what I have.

Has anyone done Strand of the Ancients? Holy mackeral, just tried it and got spanked all over the place because I had no clue what the object was. I get it now, it's like Wintergrasp (which is SO FUN! Did that once, I wanna go again!). I'm a 72 elemental shammy and I'm one of the top healers almost every time, once I get my groove. :

Ahh, I was afraid it would be a mod. I don't like using more than I need to. But I'm very curious about it too. The people I know in my guild don't use mods much (only the basics like Auctioneer and QuestHelper).

I already have it scroll my dmg on the screen, but I'm too busy to add it all up. LOL Hmm... so the combat log shows the dmg I did to something? Do I just add it up to get what I'm doing? What abuot crit? Isn't that different?

You can just click on character and look at the right drop down for your class type and it will tell you your crit rate and dps of your main hand and off hand or spell type based on your stats and equipment.

I use recount for tracking dmg/dps/healingdone

it depends on what youre looking for, if you want to know what your crit percentage is given to you by gear stats, thats on your char screen, if you want to know how much of your damage comes from special crits, or white damage crits, or how much your true crit percentage matches what your gear says you should have then you will need a mod to track a big sample of your damage over a period of time. similarly with your "dps" i am betting people mean what is your damage per second over a period of time, or on boss fights or something, not the dps of your weapon (which can also be found on your char screen)

so if you want to track your damage and see what your damage is over a parse then you need a mod, if you crit a mob while fighting and someone is like "whoa what was that crit" then you can look at your combat log and it will tell you the damage of one crit.

i guess basically, to tell you what you need to know we need to better know what it is the info you are looking for.

hope that makes some sense.

I used to use quest helper. I was told about Carbonite Quest and now use that instead. It uses far less memory to run and has extra perks that quest helper didn't have.

Well I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking for. I think the threads on the wow forums are talking about track damage over time instead of just the weapon. I've never really understood. I just saw one thread yesterday that really got me thinking. It was asking if their average DPS was good for their level and posted a bunch of numbers from different fights, and I wondered about that. I very much want to have a good character, and maybe I need to know this info too?

What I bolded tells me that is likely recount addon they are using. Recount allows you to post your numbers in chat. It is used for a variety of statistics including hit rating, crit, healing, healing over time, pretty much everything and anything any character can do... There are pie charts and graphs you can use to display if you are more visual (out of combat, of course).

My two stepsons and elder dd were here (well, dd is still here til the 3rd) on uni break for Christmas. They got little dd, 10, REALLY excited about WoW. So they set her up with a trial membership. I'm trying to set mine up but the #(#(*@Y!!!!)(*#&#& site won't load. It's frustrating. Cuz I'm in the mood to sit down and work on it and level up but can't. Wah.

Stepsons, dd and dd's boyfriend are all going to help us with the game. I'm looking forward to it!

(We also played Munchkin one night and MAN, I love that game!!!)
