I just got a call from my client, she'd gone into labour at 29 +2, and was rushed in for an emergency C/sec. (she'd happened to be at the hospital for a blood test at the time).
2 boys, 1245 grams and 1045grams.
The babies were helicoptered to a hospital in Sydney, and they're in the NICU now, doing well.
Mama is recovering just fine
I have such mixed feelings; this was to be my first twin birth, and I was excited to do it, so I'm disappointed to have missed the birth. But otoh, I'm a bit relieved that I don't have this huge responsibility. It also takes some stress of my personal life, since I was planning to go and live with the family for a few weeks before and after the birth, to offer support (the parents are old friends of mine). So now I'm released of the stress of doing that move as well.
Of course, I'm glad the mama and babies are okay, and excited that they have their boys, but again, sad that I missed the birth. That's life, I guess.

I hope the boys continue to do well and your friend recovers speedily.
