Applebee's strikes AGAIN! Help me plan a nurse-in... - Page 2

That does it. I am never patronizing another Applebee's again (didn't like them much anyway).

I agree. I staged the Portland OR Applebee's nurse-in, and ever since then, have never eaten at another Applebee's (even though the manager was really nice and gave us a bunch of coupons for free stuff.)

Yeah, seriously. I haven't set foot in any Applebee's since the original scandal erupted. a) there are a million other places to eat b) Applebee's food never really blew my skirt up in the first place and c) if I need to eat at a mediocre chain restaurant, there are others (Chili's, Denny's) who do not have anti-BFing reputations.

You'd have thought that with all the bad publicity last time that applebee's would have learned its lesson. Guess it just takes some people longer.:

Well guess what??? I was planning on meeting a friend at Applebee's in Omaha for lunch Wednesday and I was going to leave my youngest a friend's house...guess I will be NURSING my child at Applebee's to see what happens here.

Please don't go about this backwards. A nurse-in is a last step, not a first one. Contact Regional and National Applebee's management. Find out what rights you may have under CA statutes and human rights commission. You may have a suit. Mamajake on this list would advise her if she wants to talk to a Lawyer (formerly a LLL lawyer so she knows her stuff). Please hold off on the nurse-in until all other avenues have been exhausted. A poorly planned/timed nurse-in often times can result in the opposite of the desired effect and mama loses any chance of justice.

Just an FYI about eating at Applebees and nurse-ins -- here in NYC we ate nothing of there's but stood outside with signs and babies. I would never give my money to a company I was nursing against!

I'm so glad all you mamas have shared your advice and wisdom! My best friend will see this mama day after tomorrow and we will go from there. I will try to hook her up with firstright and get an account from her this week. I agree that doing this properly is of the upmost importance. None of us are in any hurry -- we want this to actually help the situation.

You know, maybe things happen for a reason. Maybe by the time we're done with Applebee's the Sequel, they'll be cowed into becoming the most breastfeeding-friendly restaurant around. It seems like when corporations are publicly shamed enough, sometimes they swing in the other direction.

I'll keep you mamas posted!

What about wighting an email and saying what they did was illegal. Ask people not to go there and to pass the email on.

I would send it to every one on my email list.
