What is minkee used for - inners, outers, wipes?

I know minkee is 100% polyester, but I'm unclear whether it's supposed to be in inner or outer fabric. Would it work for wipes or not because it isn't absorbant like cotton?

THanks!

The "minkee" that I've tried works as an inner, it seems to be slightly absorbent even though it's synthetic. I think it uses "microfibers" and because of the fluffiness traps a little moisture. I've only seen it used as an outer with hidden PUL. It would make really soft (and expensive) wipes, and it has enough texture to it that I think it would work (especially if backed with something cotton).

I have used minkee for wipes. They are soft and lovely and especially nice to use when wiping noses!
