Virginia is similar. No home births, but I'm not 100% sure about a birth clinic. I think it's up to the clinic,but one told me that because of malpractice insurance they probably woudn't do it.

I had an HBAC in March 2007. It was my second VBAC. The first VBAC ended up being a hospital transport because I started pushing before the midwife got there and then my water broke and DH called the ambulance. My MW got there as I was being loaded into the ambulance and since there was meconium in the waters (I was in the tub when the EMT got there) she just climbed in to the ambulance and I had my baby at the hospital (had to stay 3 whole hours after birth LOL). I got my timing perfect with Isla and she was born about 3 hours after the MW got here (and about 5 hours after labour started).

I just posted my story about my uc! My first vbac attempt was supposed to be at home. I transported and had a vbac at the hospital. Not ideal, but then it was a vbac! My second vbac attempt was my dream homebirth...right birth, wrong baby! Good luck )

We had an awesome UBAC in summer 2006, and planning another next month. I live in VBAC hostile Florida, but found a wonderfully supportive and inspiring community on MDC and in my local ICAN chapter. Happy birthing/VBAC!

The do homebirths in Hampton Roads. There is one licensed provider.I am considering them for myself.
