Hello all! I have a question about my LP. I am now realizing after almost two years TTC that I believe that my luteal phase is very short, 4-6 days. Is that normal? What is the normal length? I guess I just never paid that much attention to it before. I was always more focused on the day AF arrived and the days leading up and day of O. Now after looking back at my FF charts I have noticed that my LP is short.
I just recently went into my OB/GYN and had all of the initial blood work done. She said that everything came back fine and that it showed that I do ovulate. So what could be causing my LP to be so short? My cycle length ranges anywhere from 22- 26 days. Some cycles Af is very heavy and lasts about 5-7 days, and others it is very light with hardley any PMS symptoms prior and only lasts for about 3-4 days. I notice that on my heavier cycles my cm is much more abundant and noticeable. On the lighter cyles cm is lighter as well and tends to be more dry. What could this all mean? According to my Dr. and blood work everything came back 'normal', is it?
I am new to all of this and really don't know what is normal and what I need to be concerned about. I have decided to forgoe seeing my OB/GYN for this since she was not of much help. I went in to my PCM today for a refferal to the MTF Naval hospital in Balboa to be seen at their infertiltiy clinic. Hopefully they will be able to give me some answers. If any of you ladies have some words of wisdom I would be very grateful! Thank you!!

A lp that short will definitely be a problem, since there isn't really enough time for a fertilized egg to implant and send off the signals that there's something growing in there. There is a chance it could be that your progesterone levels aren't high enough. Have your dr check your levels after ovulation...I think the standard is 7 days after, but that sounds like it would be after af starts? Also, I've heard things about B6 supplements lengthening your lp. I vaguely remember that there are other herbal supplements, but I cannot remember which ones. Have you tried changing the lighting in your bedroom? Try making sure you are sleeping in cave-like darkness (no ambient lights from alarm clocks, other electronics, edges of the windows) through most of your cycle. On cd13-17, leave a hall light on, closet light, night light, or something like that....it should mimic the light that you'd get from a full moon.
