Stupid weather!

This sounds off topic, but it's not, I promise!

Last week we were in an artic freeze, with windchills in the -20s. : Then on Friday we got up to 32 (HEAT WAVE! ), and the temps continued to go up to a high of 57 Monday. : Now we've already seen our high for today and the temps are dropping. And our windchild is back to -4. ::

All this changing of temps is making Reese have the worst cough! I think I've mentioned before that our back stairway which is how we access our upstairs (where the bathroom and kitchen are) isn't heated. It doesn't get as cold as outside, but not too far off. I carry her with a blanket and wait upstairs until she's completey dried and warmed from baths, but I think going up and down the cold stairway has made her coughing worse. Just hacking coughing (I've got the same cough, but mine has a nice sore throat with it, ugh!).

Not to mention the cabin fever- we can't go anywhere because it's too cold to leave with the baby! We get out as much as we can but I am going stir crazy. I wouldn't change her birthday for the world (it was my grandma's birthday, and that is very special to me because my grandma was my hero), but next time DH and I decide we're ttc, we're only going to try if it will result in a spring or fall baby!

How are you all doing in the cold with your babies? Well, besides you mamas in the south who are nice and warm, that is!

The weather is the same here. Worse-my dog needs a walk in the worst way! However I can't take him because I'll need to take Reyes too-and it's just too cold to take him out! I wanted to take them out yesterday-but there was so much slush!!

This is my second winter baby and we are NEVER doing this again! DH has even agreed to abstain from sex completely during the months of February, March, and April if that's what it takes to ensure that we'll not have another midwinter baby on our hands.

I just can't stay inside. Even when it's stupid freeze-to-death-in-5-seconds cold outside. I know that PPD will get me if I try. So we bundle Rhys up a lot, we waste precious money and fossil fuels heating up the car before we get in, and we go. We go to dumb places like the grocery store and the mall and target, but we go somewhere at least once a day. Because otherwise I will Lose. My. Mind.

We make sure on DH's days off (so I have help schleping both girls through the slush, ice and cold) we get out. Usually to the mall since they have the indoor play area and dd1 can play to her heart's content. I just found the big warm bunting that BIL bought Reese for Christmas and I'm definitely going to start using it to make me feel better about taking her out (even though he bought baby blue. I'm at least grateful he remembered I'm not a fan of pastel pink- for a 30-something single bachelor he tried!).

But tonight we may be going into urgent care- Reese and I both. We've both had bad coughs that aren't going away. And medicaid has assigned her a doctor I'm not familiar with and it doesn't change to "our" doctor until next month. If I take her to urgent care they treat what's wrong and won't give as much hassle about vaxes as some random ped will. With her cough like this I'm not too keen on leaving the house, so I want to make sure it's nothing serious before we resume going out.

Thanks Serenity! I called the nurse at the doctor's office and she told me some things to do at home, but if her cough isn't better by next Monday they will want to see her then.

It been : here and our car has been acting up. Thought it was the starter, turns out its the battery : (Dh-make up your mind, mmmkay?)
I want to take the girls, and myself for a walk, that was kinda the purpose of getting a sling, you know? but can't. Well, we could if we wanted to take a < 5 minute walk.
