I finally got to see this movie with my husband. If you have not seen it yet, please do. It's a beautiful film. Bring your Kleenex box, my dh cried more than I did!

This was a fantastic movie. I cried so much. Why can't more movies be like this? I wish I had a 12 year old girl to take to that movie!

I'm so bummed I missed it. It was playing in my area for 2+ months (I was sooooooooooooo busy with a houseguest...., DH was sick....) and now that I have free time, it's GONE.

I invited mommy-friends to see it - who were also eager - oh well.

I guess I'll have to wait for the DVD.

I saw this film a while back, just before ds3 was born - potential viewers should know there are sad scenes around birth at the beginning - and wept from start to finish. I kept hoping for thiings to look up and they didn't till so close to the end, I was wrung out by then and could hardly get myself home

firsttime mom I agree more movies should be this good but don't think i would be up for it emotionally

I wanted to take ds to see it (he actually asked me to) he is 4 yo. Can anyone tell me if it would be adequate for a 4 yo?
Thanks!

hmmmm... good question, Len

I have an almost 3 year old and thought about taking him. I asked people who had seen it, if I should take him and there was always a delayed response. And I tell ya, I'm glad I didn't. Not only would he have talked thru the whole thing and disturbed everyone(incl. me) but he wouldnt have gotten it. Now I'm not sure about a 4 yr. old. I am sure you'll get clearer responses from others. My ds would just see the movie poster and want to see the 'whale movie'.

By the way, we walked in late. Just in time to see the family in the film crying over the loss of the mother and so here I was thinking, 'I am so glad I missed that part- emotional scenes are over'. SOOOOO wrong!

Thanks Lotusbirth, I saw the trailer and thought it would be pretty intense for a young child. The fact that they rate it as G had me thinking. I guess I'll have to wait to rent it for DH and I.
