Which one to choose? fiberglass or cellulose w/ retardants added

We're putting more insulation in our attic, I'm just wondering which would be better/worse or are they the same?

Cost wise it's the same (or so I've been quoted), but the cellulose, which is made from post-consumer products has fire retardants added. Fiberglass can also be partially post-consumer (glass).

Any thoughts?

my thought would be to find out: How flammable is the fiberglass,
and which one offgasses more? That would be how I'd make the decision. If it's about the same, then I would choose the one with more recycled content.

Have you looked into the cost of recycled denim insulation?

they have found that fiberglass insulation is as bad as asbestos. it gets lodged in the lungs and causes cancer. not only do we have to consider the people installing it, but at the end of it's life, when it is falling apart, someone else has to remove it and throw it in a landfill.
recycled denim is a wonderful alternative.
