How Often Do You Change the Sheets on Your Bed?

Mommas,

In my efforts to simplify my routine and make less work, I've gone from changing the sheets on our beds every 7 days to every 10-14 days. My logic is that this time of year, no one is sweating their butts off in bed and it makes for less laundry and, therefore, uses fewer resources.

Agree? Disagree? Think it's gross? Discuss ...

For us, we wash every two days out of necessity. I sleep with all my kiddos and someone's pull up or diaper will leak. Since the kids aren't sleeping in their beds their sheets can go much longer, LOL.

i change weekly but i actually do sweat my butt off nightly
i've always had night sweats, no idea why....
i change the girls beds weekly too, mostly out of habit, i suppose.

i don't necessarily think it's gross not to though. only you know your personal comfort level and how stinky your family can be....

I love fresh sheets. I change mine every week and the kids every other week.

I will change them more often if someone in the house has a cold or flu. I have some pretty specific "Sickhouse Rules" that keep the germs from jumping from person to person.

I used to be in a great routine of doing them weekly, but lately I've been going 10-14 days as well. I do it sooner if we've been sweaty or they actually seem dirty, but this seems to be fine for us for winter. If I have a chance and I'm all caught up on laundry though I do still do them weekly.

we're changing our sheets about once every 10-12 days.

I go every 7-10 days. Usually more often in the summer mostly b/c I absolutely *love* the smell of line dried sheets.

Every week. I love fresh sheets. I also have to say that I only put the fitted sheets on. Between dh and the kids, it was a never-ending battle for me to pull the flat sheets up each day. For now I relish the night when I have put clean fitted sheets on.

I do it every other week unless someone is sick.
We don't use flat sheets though, only fitteds.

ummmm...
when they start to smell...
But I also love the smell of clean sheets.
I would aspire to change them weekly

Every week. And the sheets don't look all that dirty (we shower before bed each night), but we have dust mite allergies, so all the bedding goes into the wash each week.

In the winter we all shower before bed so I change every 7 days but depending on how busy I am it has been 14 days a few times. I do not NEED to change every 7 days the sheets smell fine and we are always clean and showered before bed but I feel like I am not doing my job if I don't change them. So maby this is somethig I should reevaluate. To spend more time with the kids. So thanks for asking the question I like the 14 day change to free me up in the winter. Thank you MommyErin you have convinced me to change to every 14 days. I like to simplify especially since my husband is in afghanistan so the kids need me to be both parents right now. So I have a difficult time getting everything does as it is. Thanks

I also love clean sheets, so I change ours every week. The kids I let go about 10 days. My DH travels every other week, so, I always make sure they are fresh his first night home and then change them again the night before he leaves so that they are clean sheets with his smell on them!

We change ours once a week UNLESS our 2 year old's diaper leaks

just recently in my efforts to simplify the way I care for my home & family, I have created a chore chart. Weekly for dh & I every other for the kids. Unless of course there is sickness or other reason to change them sooner.

At least weekly, but usally more like every 3-4 days

While in the minority, I change them everyother week, of if they are visibly soiled.

Every week. I would do it more often if time allowed because fresh sheets are one of my favorite things.

We sleep in just undies, maybe a t-shirt, so I feel like we get lots of body oils on the sheets.

Because DS is covered in clean jammies, I do his every other week.

I wash the sheets every Monday. Every other night of the week I mist them with lavender water. I love the smell and feel of fresh sheets.

It IS hard to stretch to two weeks as I, too, LOVELOVELOVE getting into a freshly made bed. In the warmer months, I'll go back to once a week since my laundry will be on the line and I won't have to use the dryer. Today it's 22 degrees in the 'nati -- there's no way my : butt is hanging out laundry!!!
