I have a friend who was trying to have a VBAC. Her water broke and 24 hours later contractions still hadn't picked up enough to be in active labor, and she hadn't changed from 3cm -2 station. She ended up having a repeat c/s and the doctor said that she had a large amount of scar tissue there, and had to take her time to cut through hit. She tells me that the doctor said that all the scar tissue could have prevented her body from going into labor...Can extra scar tissue actually prevent a mom from going into labor??? I just figured it was a case of her waters leaking and ctx would've eventually picked up. But I'm not a birth professional so I have no idea really what was going on. Thoughts?
