Ok, I know I had this info around here somewhere, but now I can't find it an I have an assignment due so please help me!

Who were some of the key officials who were involved and or helpful in getting the midwifery statute passed in FL?
I remember a story about a senator or representative who's grandbaby was saved by an LM who happened to be an EMS respondent to the suprise breech birth--who was that again?
TIA!

Lawton Chiles was the governor and I believe it was his daughter who was pregnant.

Try calling the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery. Some of the people there were involved in getting the laws passed

If you are a member of the Florida Friends of Midwives yahoo group a file was just posted yesterday that is the history of midwifery in Florida, it looks like it is someone's masters thesis.
And yes, it was Lawton Chiles and he was gov at the time, I believe.
