Alexander Zachary is here - Update #27, #35, #46

Well, I had my section on Monday - so January 28th @ 12.48 pm, Alexander (Xander) Zachary entered the world. The section went okay (although I can't imagine why some women prefer it - crazy!), but baby is in NICU now because of respiratory distress. I got to hold him late Monday night (after finally being allowed to move after the spinal) for a little while, but even later that night, we were woken up with the news that they were transferring him down to a hospital with a NICU. Of course, my insurance didn't approve me being transferred along with my son. So, I was discharged just over a day after my section so I could stay in the same building as my son.

I'm uncomfortable where the incision is, and I'm hormonal and tired and worried and stressed. But Xander is beautiful, and I hope that I will soon be able to hold him in my arms and have him where he belongs at home with us.

Anyone with any good healing vibes, please send them his way.

Oh Mindi! I'm so glad to hear from you! I'm sorry your little one is in NICU. Sending lots of :::: to you and your little one. It must be so rough to not be able to hold him. Poor Momma. Babies are resilient and you will be too!

Happy Birthday Xander! It make me sad to hear about mama's who can't get a transfer to a hospital (to be w/ baby) after a section because their insurance wont cover it, it's wrong! I hope you find some comfort soon and that you find yourselves at home together sooner than later.

I'm sorry he's having some trouble getting going and that you had to leave with such a short recovery.

Congrats, you've had to be so very strong through this whole pregnancy and now at least he's here. My friend had a baby who had respiratory distress after a c-section and he ended up being just fine- never needed any assistance, just monitoring. I'm sure Xander will adjust to breathing very soon!
