Need 50 Valentines for various ages! Help!

I would like to avoid the cheesy, paper Valentines. Also would like to avoid candy. Was thinking bookmarks, but DH made some comments about that being really boring... LOL. I'd like to do something crafty, but as we need 50 of them, that might be a bit overwhelming depending on the project (I don't want to spend the next two weeks making Valentines....).

So, what to do? Something not-so-boring that the recipients just toss them in the trash, but not too expensive (time or money- wise) on our part????

Ages will range from babies/toddlers to teens.

I think the rest of the attendees will be just passing around the standard, printed Valentines you can pick up just about anywhere, signing their name and calling it good.

The Valentines won't be individualized to each child; so it would be 50 of the same thing to hand out.

And I guess the idea is for each child in a family to bring 50 Valentines to hand out. For us that would mean 200 Valentines. Uh, right. I think I'm going to go with just handing one to each from *our family*. What do you think?

Or am I just putting waaaaaaaaay too much thought, time, and energy into this? Should I just swing by the dollar store and pick up a few boxes of cartoon-y paper ones and call it good?

HELP!!

I think bookmarks is a great idea. Way less boring than buying stuff that you know is going right into the trash. But 50? That's a lot of anything. And I am pretty crazy about making stuff.

How about pencils that you decorate yourself? Then they at least have a usable pencil out of the deal.

I thought some of these were cute: HERE

You could get some cardstock & cheap stamps (I got some valentines ones in the target dollar spot for the kids, though I also have a valentines stamp set) and let them create their own. That is what my kids are doing, though only aroudn 20 each (there isn't a definite # yet for our homeschool group party attendance, but I figure that is a "safe" number).

we did bookmarks last year and i was thinking of doing them again! LOL

how about little puzzles....stamp a scene on cardstock and cut out into easy pieces.

one of the things i love doing for the older kids is making tiny puzzle books - download some free games online (like searchword, scrambled words, connect the dots) and xerox them...then make into a book. a book of 4 puzzles is easy enough. even add a coloring pic. they are so cute and the kids love them. the initial set up is the longest part (and really its not that bad) but putting it together is easy!

If you have a bunch of leftover crayons, I think that this would be super cute (and cheap!) and not very time consuming if you get a couple of pans.

I want to have kids just so I can do this with them.

ETA... I saw mini heart silicon ice makers at the dollarspot section in target. Those might work for this craft. You could even print out the little sayings on teh computer... so you wouldnt have to hand write 200.

Too cute! I love it! I'll have to make some for DD and my friend's daughter!

I love the bookmark idea. I might steal it. I think doing the cards from the whole family is perfect. We have to do 50 cards, too, if we go to the homeschool Valentine's party. It was only 36 when I rsvped on the database. Now that it's gotten so big, I'm thinking of backing out. We got the heart crayons last year from someone. Cute idea but hard to actually use except for scribbling. I originally thought I'd cut out 50 hearts and see if ds wanted to stamp, sticker, or glitter glue them. He is not big on crafts but he loves glitter glue.
