I would just like to clarify that there is some misinformation out there.

Nh just passed a law that requires ins. co's to pay for cnm's attending homebirths. thats great.
BUT, the board of nursing is preventing that for vbacs.

so, look elsewhere..suck it up and pay out of pocket right? i mean, lots of other women have to do that right? why not me?

well, non CNMs can not attend a vbac if they have had more than 1 c/s. which i have.

so, no, i cant have a CNM.

and MW's from other states cant deliver in NH.

so i should go out of state? kind of defeats the purpose of a hombirth.

my point here is that right now everyone needs to write teh board of nursing. and let them knwo this is a bad idea.

women will go underground and go unassisted. if thats a choice, fine..but it shouldnt be a choice forced on women, yk.

How many MWs have you interviewed?

I know when I was interviewing MWs a few of them said they could not/would not deliver breech/twins/VBAC because of laws/ACOG, whatever.

However, there are MWs out there that will.

Unfortunately it looks like it could up an uphill battle and you may have to interview several MWs but you just might find one that will work with you.

Again, how are you sure there are NO MWs that will deliver in your state? I know homebirth is easier in TX so women from LA cross the border all the time. I know it defeats the purpose of a 'home' birth but it is better than a hospital birth yk?

It is sad that homebirth is so hard for so many women. It seems crazy to me that homebirth isn't protected in all states.
