Applying for a Social Security Number

I have the birth certificate but they are also requiring some other kind of identification such as hospital records or vaccination records, neither of which I have (birthed at home and no vaccinations). Any of you have any experience with this? What do I do? Thanks in advance.

I used a birth certificate, baby, and a receipt with ds name on it from the ped.

I ran into the same thing. The guy at our local office didn't seem to understand that we would have no hospital records if our baby was born at home. We went to our ped and got a copy of our visit there.

I think that the SS card must have been ordered already with the birth certificate because we got one in the mail the next day. and the one that we ordered from the office arrived the next week. Same number and everything.
