Frontier favorites!! - Page 2

Oooh, Frontier! I love everything in that catalog! Right now I'm into their chicken like broth mix, aura cacia kids' bubble bath, and Maggie's products.

Not the best example, but my dog's vitamins are $25.00 locally (if I can find them) and $12.49 from Frontier. Once Frontier had a sale on them and they were under $10.00.

My Burt's Bees face wash is $7.99 locally and $4.something through Frontier.

For me, it's not so much the savings (because you do have to factor in shipping if the coop organizer isn't local) as it is being able to FIND the things I need. Also, if you can order $250 or more you can have it shipped free to your house. Personally, I like having someone do the work for me so I just usually join a coop and do a smaller order every other month.

I'm deleting my original post. I just realized that this is TAO, and I asked a local co-op'ing type question and didn't want the thread to get pulled for being out of compliance. Sorry! I wasn't thinking.

most of my homebirth supplies, a peanut butter mixer, i mean.. the list is endless.

I too love the AC kids' bubble bath - and my kids like it even more than me!

the 'cold and flu' bath stuff came in really handy last month! - I think both the regular and the kid stuff was from Queen Helene?

i love getting all the health / household products at such a great price and also love the fact that it keeps me out of stores - I decide on what I want and end up with fewer impulse buys.
I like to try one new thing an order. I got dr bronners, eco wash, jason, kiss my face. I try to buy locally for the bulk of my stuff but some items are hard to find locally.

I love their spices and need to place a bulk order soon as we are almost completely out.

The amt of stuff they carry is amazing.

I also like getting boxes of Emergen-C vitamin drinks - we love 'em and the price is waay better than what we can get anywhere else (in Canada).
I just participated in my first Frontier co-op, and I was really pleased with the price and quality of the stuff I bought. My favorites so far - the bulk tea, the bulk spices (I got the Frontier fiesta chili powder). I got the Rescue Remedy and the Hyland's Bumps and Bruises stick on a whim, and haven't really used them enough to see if they do anything.
We regularly order Rescue Remedy, Emergen-C, Hyland's products, Kiss My Face, Jason, Burts Bees, gummy vitamins, spices/seasonings, essential oils, etc. Every time I run a Frontier coop, someone always orders something I wish I would have!
Off the top of my head, my favorites are:

Weleda Arnica Massage Oil -- we buy a huge container to refill the trial sizes and keep them in all the diaper bags. This stuff works miracles on bruises!

Thayer's Alcohol-Free Witch Hazel with Rose extract - Using this every evening keeps my very sensitive, slightly dry skin clear and healthy.

Rainbow Light Vitamins

Herbs for Kids -esp Echinacea & Astragalus

Nature's Gate flouride-free Anise toothpaste

Desert Essence organic lotions (esp Chai)

Are the emergen-c drinks kind of like the Airborne fizzy tablets?

And i love to use my frontier order as a way to try new stuff that I wouldn't want to shell out the full price for in the HFS, just in case I don't like it. And for the things I try and don't end up liking, there is usually a mama around MDC or in the freecycle world who is more than willing to take stuff off my hands!

The emergen-C is fizzy, but the ingredients are different than airborne. http://www.emergenc.com/

I have a question. Does anyone have a shampoo that they like from frontier that is good for oily hair? I've been using some things by Jason, but it seems like they are making my hair even more oily.

And I can attest to this. I just shipped her 4 bottles of these! I run a small coop here every 6 weeks or so or I just tell previous particpants I am ordering since I can run one locally very easily as well.

I strongly suggest to get on a Frontier this month because MArch 1st the new catalog comes out and I can promise you the prices will go up a bit or inventory will change some.

I just participated in my first frontier co-op and the prices are great!

I love their organic english breakfast tea, their RRL tea, and their organic green tea w/raspberry. The china green tea is a little too potent for me. I ordered a bunch of Hylands and the prices a lot lower than what you'd pay in the stores. We use Earth's best lavendar baby wash and that was on sale too, for more than 1/2 off what we pay locally! :

I'm going to try some spices this time around, and DS1 would love bubble bath, thanks for sharing I love hearing what others have tried.

Well, I had a nice long response typed up last night, but it disappeared into cyberspace when I tried to submit... :
But, I must agree on the Ecover auto dishwash tabs. And I love that Ecover even thought ahead to the little individual wrappers that are recycleable.
Also fr dishes I love the Earth Friendly dish liquid. Very yummy scents. My fave is pear. The only natural alternative that I have found that actually cleans like the conventional brands.

I've been making one, too; glad I'm not the only list-maker! I don't have enough posts on here to participate yet, but maybe on one of the other boards I frequent.
