Quick! I need help

And I say quick because I'm at the part I need help on and don't want to wait forever.

I am knitting a pair of small Picky Pants. I wanted a roomier crotch so instead of increasing to the 14 per the pattern I did 16 which is technically the crotch number for the medium size. Now I'm to the splitting of the legs. Do I do the split according to the directions for the small or for the medium? FWIW the number of stitches moved is only a difference of 2. Should I just move the number in the middle of the 2 patterns? So instead of 6 or 8 move 7?

I hope someone can answer soon. My house is knitting condusive currently.

Uh-hem.

Hmmm never mind. I think I figured it out.

I'd probably have done the split for the small, increasing the kitchener for the crotch, because then the legs won't be huge. What did you wind up doing? (BTW - go read my blog post today, there's a finished sock you might enjoy )

Well, that all depends, doesn't it? If you want a roomier crotch then you'd leave your extra 2 stitches in the centre and graft them off. BUT if you want big and baggy legs because you're knitting longies for me, then you'd move the extra stitches to the legs.
Make sense?

Yeah well I had a brain fart and did the directions per the medium. And it was after I got my crotch stitches onto my waste yarn that I realized it. I didn't care though. I do wish I had bucked up and frogged back and did it per the small but I am unbelievably happy with whats going on I don't care. It just took me 30 minutes to bind off ONE leg. Yeah, I got my ruffle down.

flapjack you should be snuggling with a wee one right now! What are you doing here?

T I can't believe I didn't have your blog in my blogroll! I rather like the sock. I think I need to finish these longies and start something new....
