If a subforum is created and doesn't get used, couldn't it just be taken down again?
New boards take a few minutes to create. There have been many forums created since then that were asked for after... I think that your experiment might last for a while still

Bumping! And I'll throw in a "Pretty pretty please?" for good measure.

I'd love an unschooling forum, too. I really get turned off by the huge threads with multiple conversations going on at once... you can't follow anything and if a question is asked and you want to find the answer, you have to read through the whole thread! Why can't we just have a forum for it so each topic has its own thread?

another new unschooling support thread. I'm going to update this thread every week with the new support thread, both to refer more people to it, and to make it easier for the mods to find all the unschooling threads to see how many people are using them.

My own personal theory is that there will be more total posts with the more frequent threads, as fewer people will feel "lost" in the bigger threads.

If anyone is counting, I also vote in favor of an unschooling subforum!

Me too!

We need this. I know I would post more in a forum--the support threads get huge very quickly, and questions go unanswered because there are 15 different topics being covered in one thread, on top of general 'this is what we're up to' chat.

I am starting to feel pessimistic.

I discussed this last week with the administrators and yes, we are placing an Unschooling forum as a subforum to the Learning at Home and Beyond main forum. I hope we can get it up and running this week but I can't make any promises.
