MDC ate my post...

SuzyLee - Sleep deprivation is pretty common around here, I think you'll fit right in!

nikkihoi - Congrats on the first tooth! I hope he's able to get comfortable soon and sleep better!

Dancing - We like dancing to just about anything, I like 60's, 70's, and 80's music especially. Hey Jude seems to be his favorite relaxation song, I play that or sing it while rocking in the chair and he's out like a light.

My mom is on her way to keep an eye on Liam while I snow blow the driveway. This should be fun since there's a thick layer of ice under the snow, but if my 96 year old neighbor can do it, so can I We're going shopping afterwards, it will be nice to get out of the house for a while.

Hi and welcome SuzyLee! Your babe was born on my birthday, and one day before my son.

We got lots of snow yesterday but today the sun came out and the snow melted.

Yann was a little peepee monster last night. He soaked through three heavy-duty night-time diapers. ugh.

I had a tiny bit of dairy yesterday (despite claiming I was going dairy-free) and Yann woke up with a big eczema patch on his forehead which he had apparently been scratching during the night, and a red bottom. So now I really am going dairy-free.

When I am dancing by myself I tend to put on old punk stuff.
With the kids I like to put on ska, 80's New wave or pop, or the Pogues.
I just bounced Yann to sleep to Toots and the Maytals.
He likes Billie Holiday as well.

Thanks so much for saying this. Hope will be my new mantra. Every time I think there is hope I will think of her. (not that I don't often anyway). She was so strong and full of hope! I am so glad you came to join our ddc.

Does anyone else celebrate the sabbats or wheel of the year? By some calendars today(others tomorrow) is Imbolc. For those who don't know about them, Imbolc means "ewe's milk", and the nursing time of the young, in general.
Perfect timing, I'm having some issues already about nursing, but then it's always balanced out with some beautiful moments between us. This time is so incredibly beautiful. I think this is my last little baby to nurse. : I love my girls so much.
I honor the wheel of the year but it has been a while since I did anything active. I will have to break out Circle Round and do ANYTHING today. I have been meaning to find my way back to being a good little pagan again. I want to have the wheel holidays be something my little ones remember fondly. Thanks for the reminder.

HI
I am wondering if its ok to join in so late?
Feel like a new kid at school!

I am Dee mama to Lauren who is 3 and Anya who was born at home (WONDERFUL experience) Sep 4th.
Really enjoying my time with Anya, struggling with parenting two at times especially because Lauren is a threenager.

Anya is starting to teeth which is not fun for the poor love, I forgot what this was all like! She is already starting to chomp down on my poor nipples at the end of a feed, cringing at the thought of this with teeth!

She is a super active baby who won't stay still, oh how I wish she would slow down and just be a baby! (rolling at 3months, commando crawling at 4, getting up on all fours and launching herself forward, and also almost getting into a sitting position by 5months - ok slightly a brag but more a *whiiiiiine* slow down Anya!! Be my little bubba for a bit longer!)

These forums are a litlte HUGE and overwhelming, but hoping to find a little niche here, there are so many wise women here and there is so much to learn!

Here is my Lauren:

Wow! You mamas are fast! I'm really gonna try to keep up this month.

Welcome to the new mamas!

I returned to work once a week this past week as a L&D nurse. I thought my first 12 hr shift might kill me, but it went well. I found a 19 yr old Mennonite girl to watch the children at our home while I work. She is wonderful! James, 2.5 yr old DS, absolutely loved her and talked about her all evening. Georgia took her bottle pretty well, but seemed starved for the boobie when I walked throught the door.

She is growing so fast and her newborn phase all seems a blur. She weighs 20lbs now and is busting out of 9mths clothes! I love my little chub!

sitting up: Georgia is just dying to sit up all the time. She can for 30 sec at a time but then she falls over into my arms. She loves sitting up and splashing in the bath too.

teething: I'm sure Georgia is teething. She knaws on everything and is super drooly lately. I'm not looking forward to teeth though.

sleep: Glad to hear I'm not the only one dealing with sleep issues. It's anyone's guess as to how well she might nap or sleep at night. Sometimes it's not so bad. Other times, she wants to nurse every 30 mins. Talk about exhuasting. I'm hoping to get to the library this week to get the NCSS. I've heard others sing its praises.

Sanguine: Glad your LO has turned over a new leaf. Hope life returns to "normal" for you.

Leanbh: Wow, Ireland! That sounds very cool, although I'd be terrifed of traveling so far with a young babe. I'm such a homebody when I have little ones.

Welcome SuzyLee & Dee (beautiful kiddos!).

Good to see you, Betsy! Georgia is Beautiful!

Ru wants to sit up, too.

Happy hammock pic.

So neat to see what others dance to! Ruby's favorite seems to be reggae, esp. the voice of Bob Marley... it's been used more than a time or two to soothe her. Tho I know she really likes tribal drumming because that gets ME moving.

wendi~ I LOVE Circle Round... and Celebrating the Great Mother, have you seen that one?

Our Imbolc consisted of bringing some snow in to melt on the altar & some for Lily to play with, she's been too sick to get outside in it. We also danced alot & opened a gourd to look at the seeds & spent lots of time talking about seeds of all types. No dairy for Lily, so not too much for us... She is much better today & full of energy! Off to play & look for signs of spring!

Brightest Blessings!

I love both of those!

Lilah had her 2nd fever ever yesterday, so our Imbolc was pretty boring, lots of snuggles on the couch. We did go outside for a bit to sled and build a snowman. I mean how can you resist 50 degrees and 8 inches of (very quickly melting) snow

bhawkins - Holy cow, she is almost as big as big brother! What a beautiful smile!

Beemama - Ruby is such a cutie, she looks very cozy in her hammock.

I'm REALLY trying not to complain lately, but why do my IL's insist on torturing me? Why is it that at every family visit they have to revisit the same issues and stir up trouble. My BIL talked to Andrew this morning, and even though we thought we were going to have a nice trip to Maine to see everyone like we had planned it doesn't look that way. I wrote up an email to send him and hopefully that will be end of story.

Andrew will be home around 4, in time for the superbowl of course. I think we're going over to my brother's to watch it since he's having a little get together. I'm going to make some super yummy dip to bring.

I hope everyone is having a pleasant Sunday!

Anybody else having a hard time keeping socks on their babe? Ru's big ol' chubby calves just roll them right off. She's got the length of a 5mo's foot, but the girth of a 5yo!

Cool! We just ordered another book for our UU's RE called "Aisha's Moonlit Walk" that you might like, too. It's based on a fictional family/friends and follows the year w/different activities.
Hey, OT... but how are your chickens?

gah, it takes so long to type 1 handed.

Chickens We had to put one down yesterday

She got injured and just never recovered. Really long and gross story. We had her inside for 4 weeks but she never got better. And then today, my dogs got loose and attacked the girls as they were free ranging. Luckily, they are fine, just lost some feathers.

I am also in the planning stages of ordering more this spring, just cant narrow down my choices!! I found another MDC mama who is doing a big order and is going to let me add some on

Akane sat up! We were lying on the bed and she was across my lap when she launched herself into an upright position and stayed there and just babbled her butt off. DH and I stared in shock. We just couldn't believe it. Oh she's growing up so fast!

Yes! I have this problem all the time. Georgia has such cute 2 piece outfits to wear when we go somewhere, but I can't keep socks on her feet. So I look like the bad mom with a barefoot baby in the middle of winter. I just told DH I was gonna have to get her some soft shoes or something just to wear when we're out of the house.

We used to have this problem all the time, he has a habit of rubbing his feet together and he scratches the backs of his ankles really bad so he definitely needs to have socks on. He has the huge feet/calves problem so he has to wear the 6-12 month size. Somebody sent us a Christmas gift and it had a big package of socks (I can't remember what brand) but they're no-slip socks and he can't kick them off, if I can figure out where they got them I will let you know, plus I want to get some more!

bhawkins -- i wouldn't be travelling so far if dh wasn't from dublin. (we met when i was living in ireland.) we're having ro's christening there, and we plan on having all of our children's naming ceremonies there. dh's family hasn't met ro yet, and they're all so excited. i've got my mei tei and my moby for the trip. my mom will be with me on the leg from boston to dublin. i'm not looking forward to the time change though!!!
