:

I missed ALL THE YAHOO emails. : I feel so left out and so guilty that I knew nothing about the eksmom plans.

Lofty, what system are you using? Is it older 10? Is your hard drive full?

Is it some midwestern thing? I don't get it.

I've never lived in the southeast US, the west coast (except for my first 18 months) and I've never lived in Texas or the plain states or the upper midwest. I have done lots of short stints in lots of places though. True enough. I like variety!

MsSprout - I'd wait a bit. I tried starting back to running at about 4 weeks and I think it did restart the lochia. Running will always be there but you only get so many babymoons! So I vote for taking it slow and being absolutely sure your healed and ready! And welcome!!! And congrats on your little one!

You've got to get that dh of yours out to the PNW before he does anything rash up in the boonies there. He'll love it, you'll love it and the kids will love it. A much better compromise don't you think? And I'm pretty sure strawbale can be a major nightmare of mold unless you are building in a much drier place (like AZ).
Dh says have I shown you pictures of SJI? I'll email you.
:h ug

Poppy - I'm so sorry but I haven't come across anything like what you're describing. The only thing I've seen is called queso fundido and it is basically fondue but not as creamy, more rubbery. I think the Moosewood cookbook has a Mexican cheese dip recipe that I'm sure doesn't call for Velveeta. My SM made it once and it was tasty, needed more spices for sure but I'm sure you could adjust it. Kerc? Do you have that book?

Okay, time to head out on my run. Dh is going to run with me which is big, usually he goes much too fast for me to keep up.

i have the moosewood cookbook if anyone needs a recipe.
Ooo I have that one....does it have a queso recipe?

I just got back from a 10 miler with jgmommo - it's funny to me hitting the 10 mile mark meant I really am training for the 1/2. I already feel so much better prepared for this 1/2 than my first one (I did a 1/2 before the marathon). The hills were killer...one I felt my butt even burning!

Ok, I've got it figured out. I am no longer using my university email. If you send me email, I'm now using gmail for everything. MyFirstName.MyLastName at gmail.

geo, do you have access to the yahoo mail? my ibook will be 2yo in april. system is 10.4.11 thanks, btw.

plady, that's awesome that you and dh are running together. i do miss that bonding time with dh. we'll get there.

i think we will come visit you in the northwest. hey, as long as we're not paying rent anywhere, we should be able to afford it, right? i *def* think a pnw trip is in our future. maybe for my bday in august???? hmmm...this could become a pattern.

i'd love to see the moosewood recipe. quesos fundido sounds pretty good, btw.

argh, have meant to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY KERC!!! (okay, one day late)

and I am and was thinking of you, Plady! I hope you have a wonderful run with dh!
thinking about your family today Plady - how did the birthday cake come out?

in a few minutes ds and I are going to head to the mountain for some snowboarding together. then some swimming and dh will come and take over. I'm planning a swim workout followed by a short, fast run on the treadmill.

geo - that sucks that you missed all the emails. we'll catch you up, all is not lost.

lofty - my dh, mac geek, says to get info on your hard drive and see what it says about capacity and available space. to do that select your hard drive [click once] and then hit apple-i [get info] and see what it says. if you have something like 500mb free, you are too full and you need to start deleting things off your hard drive to free up space. you can always move them off to an external hard drive if you want to keep everything. hope this helps

off to check my moosewood cookbook

The problem is that I've also missed a whole slew of other emails, many of them professional. I'm currently strategizing on how to go over the IT guy's head on this.

Thanks, y'all! :

poppy, okay, that helped. i have, like 250 mb free, so i guess i need to delete. so will you ask him another stupid question from me. i don't know what to delete... like does it mean docs? or programs? my itunes? applications? software? yikes. i just don't know where to begin. my dh uses my comp a lot for his movie stuff and i bet that takes up a ton. he's got his own, so maybe i can delete all movie-related stuff. sorry for sounding like a dunce, but i just need to do this in baby steps. will you tell him thanks.

btw, when i saw "once" last night, the actress wore this groovy dress during a party where everyone takes turns singing around the table. anyway, her dress had this really groovy pattern and eveytime i saw it (okay the 2 times i watched it last night) i thought of you and your design world

, this is totally true. We have a good friend who is a sustainable/eco friendly artistic house builder, and he thinks that if you are going to use the materials to build a home, that you should use beautiful things that will last a long time(200+ years). In the NE, even impeccably built strawbales tend to develop mold issues.

Plady, thinking about you and your family today.

We are waiting for the ice to melt off the roads before heading out to MIL's. Must go organize family. Have a lovely Saturday!

Anything that takes hard drive space. Write it to an external drive or CD.

Poppy- added queso recipe that we like here.

Happy belated birthday, kerc.

Plady- I'll be running 2 mi on TM this afternoon for you and your family.

I've just about given up on my computer. Dh is going to try and fix things while I run this afteroon. If he can get it working by tonight, I may just have my proposal back out to my advisor by the end of the weekend.:

Happy Birthday, sweet Wendy angel! to your Mama, Daddy and sisters today.

Our roads are SCARY, but somehow I will get out and jog or wog or whatever at least 2 miles today. I think I will wait for some afternoon-ish temperatures.

Lofty -- I totally vote for August! That's when I was thinking of heading over to camp out at Pladyland. I'm starting to get a concept together that Geneva and I will be doing a long road trip around western Washington in august. I have six weeks free before classes start at the end of Sept, so I think I will be doing Seattle/Tacoma, Port Angeles, SJI and Bellingham.

Just got off the treadmill - dedicated my 3+ miles to Wendy, and her loving family. (Plady, I hope you don't think I'm nuts, but I look at your lovely pictures of Wendy fairly often. She's just so beautiful and I like to think of keeping her memory alive.)

Happy B-day kerc, one day late!!

I'm getting in the shower then heading to Naperville to meet up with ds and practice his solo for his graded music juries (he plays french horn and has a music scholarship and I play piano for him.) Then, hopefully out to dinner with him, girlfriend, and any of his friends we can round up - it's fun to get to hang a bit with the college crowd and feel young!
