c'mon quasar, POAS already! the suspense is unbearable!

quasar! pee pee pee!!! : ...though I too have been burdened with random spotting a day or 2 before a late period while TTC...it's not fair but it happens

I can't believe how many of us are in the 2ww. I'm at 7dpo now and am just starting to imagine symptoms which is not helped by my sexy temp drop this morning. Last night and this morning I could really feel activity in my uterus! Now, I have a cramp in my thigh, similar to what I get when I have my period.
I've been having real trouble charting accurately this month because for some reason I'm waking up at 4am and staying awake until 6 and then having to get up at 6.30. Last night one of our feline friends decided to cry and scratch at the door for half the night too (and DP ended up taking her and sleeping with her on the couch) so I'd only had 2 consecutive hours of sleep when it was time to temp and get up. So with a deceptive chart like I have, I've got my fingers crossed but I'm not holding my breath just yet.

I'm still spotty but no longer itchy and my neck is loads better too which is great.

Who's taking vitex? How long do you think it took before you noticed a change? I'm really hoping it'll boost my progesterone levels which I think are being affected by my thyroid and hence the cause for my generally low BBT.

Love and crossed appendages to all :

MujerMamaMismo: I can't believe how many of us are in the 2ww. - I guess that's me too - have decided not to inseminate again today, just couldn't face asking KD for a 6th gifting...If I don't ovulate today or tomorrow, I guess I'll just have to chalk this cycle up to (tearful) experience. Am considering doing Fertility Friend - a lot of you seem to do it...? Maybe my temperature will show some kind of pattern - it is 10 years since I was last charting (for contraception purposes), so I may have settle down since then...

So frog, would you be so kind as to move me to 'Waiting to Know'? Thank you

MujerMamaMismo you said "my neck is loads better too which is great"

I missed what was up with your neck ?

I'm asking because I have bulging disks in my upper back-neck, that usually leave me alone but it has been acting up these past few days... (oww)... but is there a link perhaps between pregnancy symptoms and inflamatory issues ?????

Coco

PS: and doesnt it suck when it hurts and all you can do is use ice because you might be pregnant......

Today is 11DPO and still no clear symptoms, except my temp is still up. However, I remain very positive about this cycle for some reason. We'll see. It's wonderful to be in such good company.

quasar, I am watching your chart too - can't wait to hear! My BBT seems to be about peaks and valleys this month, so who knows! It's 8 DPO for me and I am entering what I like to call the Dollar Store testing phase. Starting tomorrow I will pee on a Dollar Store test, but nothing else! Scout's honor.

I'm taking it. I'd say it took two months or so before I noticed a significant change, but I noticed small things before then.

Most notably, this cycle I'm having a ton of cervical fluid and well in advance of ovulation--which I've STILL not done.

Coco: re: only ice for pain: YES! I have a tendency to pull a muscle between my shoulder blades that sends hot, searing pain up to my ear and down my arm, and if I take an Advil-3, it goes away completely and doesn't return. Of course, the last two time I pulled this muscle has been during the 2ww, and so I not only had to suffer the pain of the first two days of pulling it but the ache as it healed for 4 more. Worst is when you suffer through the pain and end up with a BFN anyway : but I know that if I went ahead and took the Advil I'd end up pregnant for sure and spend the entire pregnancy worrying about having taken it.

Good morning everyone!!

Wow...there ARE so many of us in TWW!!! : to all!!!!

So...I got the crosshairs I wanted to see this morning!! I'm officially 3DPO now...and I feel much better about this cycle. Usually we inesm the night before O and then again the day of. This time...we did an early AM and evening insem the day of O. Of course...a failed try at IUI...but we covered that cervix good anyway.

If this cycle doesn't work...we've decided to move on to an RE for IUI's. My cervix is just too tricky for DW to do it properly at home. No biggie...EXCEPT...we have to switch banks. PRS isn't registered in my state...and the RE will only use MD registered banks. Bummer...we had just found a donor with kick ass numbers too!!! Anyhoo...the RE office recommended California Cryobank. Anyone use them...have any opinions?

Frog...bring on that O!!!!

Quasar Oh, it's so agonizing, nail biting, edge of my seat. . . .

MMM I've been taking 1200mg vitex for 3 cycles now. I've also been taking 150mg of soy isoflavones from CD 5 to 9. Soy isoflavones are supposed to be a mild natural Clomid. I can't say which one is having the effect, but my overall temps are higher, last cycle my luteal phase was 4 days longer than normal, I have been able to feel myself O the last 2 months, and my OPK's are darker and more clearly positive than ever. So, I definitely think it's increased my LH hormone and probably progesterone as well.

9dpo - temp back up! But no symptoms.

Looking good, pranava! I'm so excited for you!
No symptoms here, although it is too soon, I usually start imagining them by now.

Told someone at work about our TTC attempts and I got a good reaction.
I guess I'm testing the water. I don't really have a lot of people to talk to about this.
Well, I had a major temperature dip this morning. (Sorry I'm a night person and don't normally wake up till around noon ) I'm going to take that as a negative sign and see how this AF business turns out instead of testing. So far, still spotting and nothing more.

simplelah- Glad you were able to get a good reaction out of someone at your work. I had seen your other post about how they all pretty much didn't get it. Best wishes for a positive cycle this time!

pranava- Lookin' good!

JennM1021- Sending lots of : to you!

frog- Sounds like your cycle is playing some games with you, like mine did. I hope you get closer to O soon!

tiggerkong22- Keeping my : for you.

mahrens77- your chart looks great! About using only one test... good luck with that. You know we'll all be over here encouraging you to POAS every minute we can!

Here's some more baby dust for good measure! Good luck everyone in the 2WW!

I've been talking via PM with a couple of folks using donors from the same bank as us (though no one using the same donor, yet) and I'm curious as to the process you all used to choose your donor. Known or unknown, I wanna hear it all.

Our known donor offered to be a sperm donor for DP long before she and I ever got together. He is DP's bestest male friend, and they have both done a lot of supporting each other through thick and thin along the years.

KD was the best man at our wedding. We took him on our honeymoon. And when it came time to actually seriously discuss having a baby, he was, of course, our first choice. He's been really great about the whole process, and great with supporting the both of us. He met DS for the first time in the fall, and while he clearly had an attachment to him, we have no worries whatsoever that custody will ever become an issue. He kept saying over and over "I don't know how you do it. I'd need 4 nannies just to keep up."

The only thing I wish is that he lived closer, so we would have easier access to donations when we need them.

We'll insem tonight and tomorrow--nearly positive OPK just now.

After FOUR DAYS of copious fertile fluid, I'm finally ovulating! Go vitex!

We couldn't think of anyone to ask to be a donor, so we knew we'd be going with a bank. From there we had a bit of a division of labour. I'm the researcher in the family, so I hunted down all the banks that were Canadian Compliant (not very many) and those that offered open ID donors (even fewer). Xytex had the most options for us, so we concentrated our search with them.
Personally, I wanted someone with dark hair and blue eyes (like my sweetie) and over 5'10, with a Scottish/Irish-type background. So I basically did searches for those characteristics (among the open ID donors), printed off the list, and handed it over to DW.
She looked at some characteristics like blood type (she was hoping for the same as hers) and reported pregnancies, but mainly focused on the medical history. She picked one out of the bunch that she liked, we ordered the long/detailed profile, and we both knew that he was the one. He just seemed like a nice, down-to-earth, hardworking guy, and he had a really nice message for any children conceived by his donation. Later on, we had the very bizzarre and flukey experience of contacting someone at the bank who had met him on several occasions, and she confirmed our gut feelings about him (very likeable guy), and was also able to tell us that he was totally fine with being a donor for queer families.
So, it just seemed meant to be...we haven't even tried yet, but we're very "attached" to our donor already.
