DH and I discussed this in detail, but only came up with more questions.
- Did only 6 make it off and the rest die?
- Did only 6 make it off and the rest stay behind?
- Did others make it off (such as Aaron/Juliette/Desmond) but NOT COUNT because they weren't on the Oceanic roster?
- Who are the other 3? (Jack, Kate, Hurley,...)

Aaron is the child Kate is taking care of, right? I was counting him as one of the O-6, but you make a good point about him not on the roster.

Ok heres a spooky tidbit, when Hurly looks into the window of Jacob's cabin he sees a dark figure sitting in the rocking chair. Its..... Christian Shepard, JACK"S DAD. But he's dead you say. well apparently not. Oh and I'm pretty sure he's not Jacob because I've seen screen shots from season 3 and I'm pretty sure Jacob is being played by Terry O'Quinn, the same actor as Locke. Whether he is a twin brother (I secretly suspect) or Locke in the future, we will have to see. There is a lot of buzz about the island being under a casimir effect, basically that time and space have no meaning on the island.

That makes sense, they sort of set that up when Kate said something to Sawyer about how Juliette was there to see if she was pregnant, and Sawyer said "Let's hope not."
Does that mean though if you conceive on the island and you get off before the baby is born you don't die like the other women??

About the island killing the preggo women, i don't know if leaving the island after conceiving on it would make a difference. It seems like if it happens at conception there isn't much they can do kwim. Maybe Juliet gets off the island and finds a cure for whatever is killing them.

If I recall correctly, Charlie doesn't know how to swim. As far as the water visions Hurley was having it seems to be the "spirit" of Charlie getting a message to him. Hence, showing up at the sanitarium.

My theory is that it is Ben. Remember Jack said the person was neither friend nor family but obviously someone from the island. And perhaps that would explain Kate seeming slightly offended that Jack would think she would go to the funeral.

Hi. I've been lurking here : the past week or so and figured I might as well come out of the closet. I had to watch the first 3 seasons on DVD and then the cable was out here on Thursday night so I had to watch the new one online.

I've got many of the same questions...... but one that doesn't make sense to me was that if Kate was pregnant and had a baby after leaving the island, why would she leave the baby behind when going to meet with Jack? To me, it felt like the person she had to rush back to was not a baby/small child, or at least not only a baby. Unless this took place long after they left the island and the baby was now much older?

I'm so excited either way. And I also hope that Charlie swam out the hole to surface.... you don't need to be a strong swimmer to surface as long as you know which way is up. But I thought in Season 3 he said he had been a competitive swimmer in school and could hold his breath for 4 minutes, am I confused? And when they showed him swimming to get down into the Looking Glass, it didn't seem like he had to swim more than 30 ft or maybe 50 at the most...... there was still a lot of light coming through the water. Just some things that I thought of.

So looking forward to Season 4. Hopefully I can keep up with Lost and a newborn.

I was surprised Rose and Bernard didn't stay. The island healed them, right? I would think they of all people would go with Locke. Why would Rose have a thing against Locke? I can't remember what all happened between them.

Who was that fellow who visited Hurley and who asked ominously "Are they still alive?" I wonder who the "they" are. And if they're still alive I wonder why can't they find the island and find the "them" unless Locke and the people who joined him figure out a way to repair the jam signal.

Naomi sure thinks fast on her feet and is super coordinated for someone so badly injured. I think if I had a knife in my back I wouldn't be able to do any of those things let alone lie and cover for Locke. That part was strange. Why she said what she said to her group just before she died didn't make sense to me.

And what did Hurley mean when he told Jack at the mental hospital that "it wants them to come back" ? Who or what is the "it"? Hurley knows that Jack came to visit him to make sure he doesn’t say anything he isn’t supposed to but I wonder what the secret is. I bet it has something to do with the them that stayed back and the question the fellow asked about "are they still alive?" Could the "it" be the island?

Yeah...this episode left more questions than answers.

He did say that. Of course in Season One he said he could not swim (I think b/c he was not jumping in the water to save the girl caught in the rip current? One of the very first episodes.). I do not know if he said that b/c he was high at the time, or if it was a mix-up in the writing of the show - forgetting that detail.

The Oceanic Six are the six people who were on the dock at the end of Season 2 so that would be Jack, Kate, Hugo/Hurley, Sawyer, Michael, Walt.. *

Well, I think Rose is a very wise character. The fact that she and Sayid stayed with Jack make me VERY suspicious of what will happen to those who went with Locke.

I have a feeling that those who go with Locke will in turn split into another group.
