What can I make with old apples?

I love apples. The yummy tasty organic kind. Except we can only get them in big bags, and some inevitably go soft/bad to the point I won't eat them b/c I cant stand the texture.

What can I do with them?

Make applesauce, chop up and cook in oatmeal, fry in coconut oil and sprinkle with cinnamon, apple crisp...anything that requires cooking them will hide the softness.

will it also hide the grainy texture?

apple crisp :

I have a tree that has soft mealy apples that I cannot eat fresh but they make great crisp! Applesauce and pie are good too.

saimeiyu: How about using them in baking? You won't notice the grainy texture at all in apple muffins, apple loaf, apple pancakes etc. Or you can sauce them as a PP suggested and use the applesauce in place of butter or oil for baking--very healthy!
