Why do people have to open there mouths???

I told a "friend" (a friend I am not close with anymore) that we were expecting again. Mind you we have a nine month old and I am not sure what kind of reaction we may receive. She is pregnant with a baby and has a 3 year old, so I thought I was fairly safe. No sooner had I told her than she says, "Well, I just read that Dr. So-And-So says the optimal child spacing is three years." and gave me a disapproving look! What!?! : I was speechless!
Trying not to be sensitive...but my hormones aren't helping!!!

Some friend. That is incredibly rude. I also disagree with "optimal spacing". I think that every personality is different and nature sort of helps us decide when the right time is. Just brush it off. I'm so sorry you had to hear that. I think your youngest two will be incredibly close and thank you for that

Some people really should keep their mouths shut. I'm sorry she said that to you.

So sorry you had to hear that. I think some people just don't hear themselves and don't realize how much their words sting. A supposed friend said some pretty snarky things to me earlier this week too, and I'm still scratching my head over it.

Feeling better. I have been pondering all the GREAT things about having them this close and it is helping! They will be such good friends, I may be able to homeschool them together, and we have a "jump start" on our family, which means we will be younger when they leave the home.... Now I am feeling a bit sorry for her. LOL!

I am sorry she said that to you. I am in the same situation. I have a 9 1/2 month old son and just found out I am pg with #2. We planned it this way bcause I know first hand how wonderful it can be. My sister and I are 16 months apart and I love that we are so close! Try to pay no attention to people like this.

Very cool! It will be great when people undoubtable will say, "Oh surprised, were you?" and you can proudly say, "Surprised, no not at all!" Perhaps we should say that anyway I am hoping that we have another boy, just for that reason, but I am sure it will be great either way.
