Hi Luna,
I know how expensive all of this is. I wanted to tell you about Taurine and L-Arginine. We only paid about 12.00 dollars for both of the bottles. You can get them at GNC. DH takes 2 a day. They are for motility, count, etc.. You sound like you are well on top of your cycle. Maybe the supplements will help you. I know other couples who have conceived within 3 months of using them. This is our first month using them. Me , cycle 12 TTC after 2 ectopics.. I have just been told that I am an infertility patient.. WOW!! That was hard to hear.. I will not give up.. You should not either. Take care

It didn't take much to tip the balance toward or away from ovulatory infertility. One serving a day of a low- or no-fat dairy product increased the risk. One serving a day of a full-fat dairy product decreased it.

I'll quit pimping the book now
Wow, I'm glad I came across this in my "wish-I-was-pregnant" lurkings. I'm 38, been ttc almost 2 years, have seen 2 TCMs (acupuncturists) in that time which did NOT result in preg, but DID make me generally healthier and normalize my cycles (I had no periods for ~2 years after losing weight on a protein diet, but hormone tests found nothing unusual; when I got AF back, my LP was short-- now it's 12 days), and I'm all in favor of good, whole-food nutrition. I've always been suspicious of removing the fat from dairy anyway.

HOWEVER, I'd like to throw out here to all of us very impressionable, OK-I'll-try-anything types (me included, I know) that excessive dairy is not for everyone. There are very different body-and-constitution types among all of us humans, which I only know a little about.... But for example if you have thin skin and a tendency to cold hands and feet, cold+sweet+dairy (e.g. ice cream, yogurt w/ sugar in it...) is not a good combo. I can't say much else, but a good naturopath, or TCM, or the like, could.

I do know that probably everyone in the US needs more Omega-3 fatty acids (e.g. from fish oil), but be sure to get a good brand like Nordic Naturals or Carlson's, because they extensively test for mercury and other possible super-awful contaminants. That's important enough for your future child's health to avoid such contaminants like the plague.

Can someone say a little more on the raw-vs. pasteurized milk thing? I know that Horizon milk is ULTRA pasteurized...

Thanks all.

biomama - there was also mention in the book I'm not pimping anymore about zinc and folic acid helping with sperm count or motility. Sorry I don't have #s - I already returned the book to the library.

avocada - I *totally* agree that dairy isn't for everyone. I'm *not* advocating consuming dairy just for the sake of trying to increase fertility! I'm mostly trying to get it out there for other women who, like me, have been pushed to always get nonfat and are already drinking skim/2%, eating nonfat yogurt and the like. Obviously, that isn't the best bet for our fertility.

I can't tell you a lot about raw milk. What I do know is ultra pasteurized is hotter than pasteurized, so it kills more stuff. Not necessarily a good thing... Check out over in Nutrition and Good Eating for better info on milk.

Sorry if I offended anybody. I feel like a jerk because I haven't been through anything compared to most of you. You can just delete this whole thread if you want.
