Somebody pinch me!

Yesterday, I was having a really rough day. I was feeling like crap and DS was more than I could handle. I am very irritable these days. I try really hard not to get frustrated with him, but he's 2 1/2 and challenging me non-stop.

Anyway, my mom called me yesterday mid-breakdown and I was a mess. She lives 3 1/2 hours away, has had lots of health problems, and isn't able to step in to help out with the little guy by herself. My dad recently retired, so they have taken DS once for 2 nights in the last year. My sis lives 2 hours away, and she also took him once for 2 nights after Christmas. And my brother is good w/ kids, but is kinda clueless and I wouldn't feel comfortable to leave DS with him for more than an hour
That is about the extent of the help that I've had from my family in the last 2 1/2 years.

Well, my mom has rallied the troops, and they came to get DS this morning.
She and my brother got him, took him to Gatorland, and are going to keep him until Thurs. (if the baby hasn't come by then) or even until the baby does come... whatever I want! She is going to be getting help from my dad, brother, sister, grandma (who is 75 and has more energy than most 30 year olds I know), aunt, and uncle, so she will be able to rest when she needs to.

YAY! YAY! YAY! I'm doin' my big preggie happy dance!!!

I will miss him so much for the next several days, but I will finally be able to get my nest in order. I haven't been able to take DS to do fun stuff without DH to help for the past week or so, and I know that he was tired of being cooped up in this house. Makes me feel so much better to know that he'll be doing all kinds of fun stuff with people who are just crazy about him.
Before he left, he was saying "goin' to see my families--Hooray!"

That sounds great! I have a boy that age (also born 6/05) and I completely understand! Luckily we have a 4 year old dd and 13 year old dd and they all keep each other busy most of the time.

Enjoy your break, take a nap every day and go get some pampering while you can!

What excellent news! My DS is two yrs, two months, and I know what you mean about feeling bad about not being able to a whole lot with him in these last few weeks. I am trying to have lots of special time with DS, but the weather has been bad, and I can't manage a gigantic belly AND a 2-yr old in 8 inches of snow very well!

It DOES feel good, I won't lie!

It's amazing how I've gone from wanting this baby out now to hoping that he stays in another week

Stay in there, baby! Mama needs some more peace and quite

Also, DS got to go play on the beach this morning and then watch the skateboarders at the skate park down the street from his Granny's house (two things that he LOVES to do). I feel absolutely no guilt about this arrangement because the little dude is having way more fun than I am (cleaning and running errands), even though I do get to take naps whenever I want to.
