Any Decorators/ID's here? Help please.

I need opinions on a foyer closet door.

Here's the deal:
I have a crappy builder bi-fold door on our foyer closet. We are having it replaced with small swing out doors....
Directly across the hall is a set of clear bezel french doors with a transom and side lights....

DH and I went back and forth at the store about the kind of door/glass.

The options are:
French doors where the panes go all the way to the bottom-like across the hall.
Or
french doors that have a wood panel at the bottom third-beneath the panes.
(Or solid -painted door like we have now-just not bi-folding doors)
But the big issue is what kind of glass

frosted bevel-where the bevel is clear but the center part is frosted-to try to obscure the coats etc inside,
OR
a flat pane (meaning non bevel) pane-all frosted

OR
a clear bevel with the intention of placing what they called sticky rice paper on the back side to make it opaque. (a $200.00 savings over the frosted bevel)
but can I do it well enough????

I like the idea of the bevel b/cit would catch the light, butwould also mathc the other doors.

WWYD??
THANK YOU if you have read all this and could make sense of it.

Not a designer... at all...

If you go for one of the clear glass ones you can do curtains inside which will hide the coats and allow you more decorating options.

The thought of just 'obscuring' the interior with frosting doesn't appeal to me personally.

solid door.
no one wants to see inside the closet with the door closed.
it will look too busy.

I agree. Go with the solid door. I get what you are trying to go for with the beveled french doors because yes, it balance out the space for anything else but a entrance closet.

I definitely would not go frosted as your other french doors aren't (right?) and what you are trying to achieve would be undone by frosting them.

FWIW.

Solid doors. You wouldn't do glass (frosted, maybe, but it would look very Upscale Dentist Office in the 80s) on closet doors.

I'm not a decorator but I play one on TV. Call it my obsession.

Anyway.... you would NEVER EVER EVER put glass doors on a coat closet. You do not want to call attention to a coat closet in any way.

Instead, you should get (if you can) raised panels which mimic the doors in the rest of the house. For example if you have the cross-over-bible doors elsewhere, you should have coordinating doors here. If you have simple inset panel doors, you should do that here.

Thank you ladies.
Yes, I have changed my mind a few times again just today. And DH continues to his eyes at me.
Indecision issues suck!
