Looking for a thread...

There was a thread that I read recently (within the past two weeks) where one of the responses had a long list of things to do with your child (ie go outside and look at the moon, take a nature walk, etc).

I'm pretty sure I saw it here but I could be wrong....

Help!

You could try doing an "advanced search" in this forum- if you can remember any of hte words in the title you could include that in the search, or you could try simply searching for threads with at least 20 replies (or do you think it was longer than that?).

That might be my post in this thread: How do you deschool yourself?, although I don't think the moon was mentioned, so maybe not... - Lillian

Thanks Ruth. I couldn't remember any of the words....

Lillian, that is it!!!! Thank you so much. I thought it might be one of yours or one of the other seasoned "pros".

LOL at the moon, I guess I put that one in there myself.

I want to make up a calendar for each month and put some of these fun activities on there, maybe 2-3 per week. Something fun for us to do and I'm hoping that if it "says it on the calendar" then they won't argue with it~

Well, I would have said it if I'd thought about it - that's actually one of the things I mentioned in my article on preschool/kindergarten. When I was little, my father and I used to spend a lot of time sitting out in the garden under the night sky together. He'd tell me fairy tales out there too - he was a wonderful storyteller. We'd talk about the moon and stars and we'd try to find all the faces and animals we could in the silouettes of the trees - there were lots of wolves and dragons. I think I'd be a different person if it hadn't been for all that. :

There were no home computers then, and not enough TV to tie anyone to the screen, so it seemed as if there was a lot more time...
