Had to come here and share.
First, I started teaching a class at our local community college (Mt. Hood) and saw a huge pink sign that said that if you need a place to pump and/or breastfeed your child, contact health services. I have never seen one like that before! Woo Hoo!
Then, in my old place of work (Parkrose School District) they put a newsletter called the "staffline" in their paychecks. My mom and mother-in-law still work for the district. They told me about this. Usually it has stuff in it about retirement plans, upcoming events, how to stay healthy during flu and cold season, blah, blah, blah. This time it was about breastfeeding in the workplace. It was quoting law, and saying that there had to be a place to pump and/or feed your child that was NOT in a bathroom. This info took up the WHOLE staffline!!! I was so excited!
Last but not least- I went to a hockey game tonight (Portland Winterhawks) Now I am tandeming my 4 yo and 20 mo. I don't nip with my 4 yo, and stopped about 3 months ago with my 20 mo (only because he is too busy and never wants it when there are other things going on) Well, I nip'd with him tonight, and we were seen on the big screen!! Not that you could tell, it just looked like I was holding a child in my lap, but *I* knew!!
Thanks for reading my LONG post. I wanted to celebrate!!!!
