do I have any options? - Page 2

I haven't read all the responses yet, but I could pass through without saying:

Since when does your BOSS get any say as to how you choose to parent your child!?!? :

That is all.

Thank you all for checking in on me. I haven't talked to them yet. I actually just filed my taxes with my ex and it looks like I will have enough to stay home for 2 more months! I"m so beyond thrilled. It will take careful saving of money and thriftyness beyond thriftyness but I can do it. I thought we might have to pay in so I'm very happy that we don't and we are getting money back. I won't pay off my credit card like I had hoped but my Gracie is worth being in debt another year or so! Thank you again. You are all so wonderful for helping me so much. I printed the laws in my state and I'm on the search for a family-friendly job for when the ex deploys and I need actual daycare and another job. I hope to find a local AP-minded mama who wouldn't mind an extra few kids to watch. Hopefully I can work my hours so my youngest two get an in-home daycare or sahm to watch them and I'll pick up the oldest from school and go grab them and be home for the evening. Anything's possible right? But for now I think I get to be home!

That is good news.

In regards to state law: Federal supercedes state law, and Federal Law requires breaks as previously posted.

Good luck on the friendlier workplace search, and Good Job on the nursing thus far.

I would seriously look into it. Your baby's health is totally first and foremost here. Good luck with talking to your manager, I hope she's somewhat reasonable with you.
I was about to suggest the same thing.

In CA, I know you can get disability for 12 weeks -- (instead of the normal 6) for breastfeeding alone, not to mention breastfeeding a preemie. Call your local LLL, AND your local midwife to find the BEST pediatrician and/or OB/GYN to help you out in filing this paperwork. It should be as easy as 1,2,3. We are rooting for you momma!

Kepp pressing the disability despite the tax return IF you can. You need the extra dough!
